Not bar food....... cuisine level food here with terrific service Simple cafĂ©/bar with sidewalk seating - cafĂ© is simple appearing but the food exceeds any expectation. It was simply fabulous. Our waiter did not speak much English so the proprietor, Gabriel, came out to serve us. He was so personable and dedicated to his restaurant. Gladly described the dishes in detail. Ended up in a conversation with history of Barcelona telling of us St. George’s day and how it is celebrated with girls giving boys a book and boys give girls a rose (sort of like Valentines). He brought the lady in our party a rose! The food was great! The apps were perfect. The croquette were tasteful and crispy and hot. Gildas de baqueroa (anchovy/olive/chili pepper skewer with ravigota sauce was unique and flavorful. Mains-beef cheek fricassee with mushrooms and Milanese rice with queso and Iberian ham were terrific comfort food with great taste. The Basque cheesecake for dessert was a great finish. On a noisy street, but we didn’t care ....... such a terrific find.

Loved this place!! It's located a block away from Plaza Catalunya, but it's not crowded at all (I went at 1pm on a Thursday). It's ok to bring your laptop (they have wifi, outlets, and comfy booth seats). They let me know that if it gets crowded, I might have to move to another table (though that didn't happen). Food was great. I ordered the menu of the day for 12 euros, which included rigatoni (8/10), spinach salad (7/10), bread (7/10), water, and coffee, along with a pudding dessert (9/10) for an additional 2 euros. The only thing I didn't love was the coffee - it tasted very weird, and I couldn't drink it. It might be a one-time occurrence, since I see many other people say the coffee is amazing, so I'll come back again and see if the coffee tastes better next time!

A lovely intimate cafe tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Barcelona. Came here for a late breakfast and the food was delicious. Being English, there was some confusion with our order as we asked for an omelette with cheese and ham inside, but came out looking very different. However having a talk with the staff they took it back to the kitchen and prepared it exactly they way we wanted it and it was delicious. Unfortunately it was eaten before we managed to take a photo, but 5* for going the extra mile to please the customer. You could probably put this dish on the menu as it is popular for the English.

At first impression, the restaurant appeared welcoming, with a pleasant atmosphere and English menus readily provided — a considerate touch for non-Spanish speakers. Unfortunately, the experience quickly deteriorated.

Several dishes were unavailable, though this was only communicated after we attempted to order them. In fact, three of our initial selections had to be abandoned, and even after adjusting our choices, the server later returned to inform us that those alternatives were also not available. This lack of transparency left the dining experience feeling disorganized and frustrating.

Service was inattentive and disengaged. The server often turned her attention to colleagues immediately after interacting with us, offering little guidance or thoughtful recommendations when items were unavailable. The overall impression was one of indifference.

As for the food: ‱ The crispy pork belly arrived only faintly crisp. ‱ The potato salad was paired with tuna tartare that seemed partly made from yesterday’s fish, mixed with fresher cuts — a confusing and unbalanced preparation. ‱ The mushroom and meatballs were heavily stewed, presented in a manner more reminiscent of institutional cooking than a restaurant dish.

In the end, what began with promise was marred by poor communication, lackluster service, and underwhelming execution in the kitchen. This establishment has potential but, in its current state, falls well short of...

Most Embarrassing Experience in a Cafe/Restaurant; I went today for a business meeting. Upon entering the restaurant, it was already quite busy. I waited patiently for someone to come when another couple entered. Instead of waiting behind me, they slightly pushed me and headed inside. Still no one came towards me, instead, the couple was already speaking with someone from the staff and choosing tables. As there were only two left, I approached one of the tables, both with no sign of reservation. The couple started pointing towards me while talking to the person from the personnel. Then I realized they wanted this table I was almost sitting on. The waiter jumped at me, asking me who seated me and when he heard I was speaking English trying to explain, he interrupted me saying: "Oh, so you lied. This table is reserved." I was shocked and appalled. The people from the next tables stared at me as he used quite a high voice and pushing me away with one hand. I was super embarrassed and just left the place. Honestly, I've never had such experience in Barcelona till now. Extremely disappointed with the treatment of a highly...

Our evening began at the stunning rooftop bar of Hotel Pulitzer, where the atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxed—perfect for a sunset drink. A special shoutout to Jaume, truly one of the best bartenders we’ve encountered. His warm personality and cocktail craftsmanship made the experience even more memorable. I had the Dalia, a cocktail with a perfectly balanced and elegant flavor profile—refreshing, smooth, and crafted with care.

After drinks, we headed downstairs to La Esquina, the hotel’s restaurant. There, we were warmly welcomed by Cesar, whose service was exceptional. He was clever, attentive, and brought a wonderful sense of humor to the table, making our dining experience not only comfortable but genuinely enjoyable.

What stood out most about the evening wasn’t just the delicious food or the perfectly mixed drinks—it was the ambiance and the meaningful connections. The team at Hotel Pulitzer made us feel like more than just guests—they made us feel at home. It’s the kind of experience that lingers, one you’d want to return to...
