La Foga — Restaurant in Barcelona

Let me start this by saying that my partner and I are English; we speak very little Spanish and no Catalan. However, we didn't feel welcome in this restaurant. The food was good but not great and the waitress who served us the majority of the time made a good recommendation to have some tacos. She was new and had only worked there a week. Our evening went downhill when it started raining. We'd opted to sit outside and were undercover. However, the staff were now much less willing to come to serve us due to the weather and I had to shout to the restaurant to order dessert for my partner. On two occasions we were also spoken to aggressively in Spanish by another member of staff, a lady in her late 20s which made us feel uncomfortable as we didn't know what she was saying and her tone was not friendly. We asked to sit inside to eat the brownie and were shocked that although we were the only people inside the staff seemed more concerned with singing very loudly to their music and being on their phones rather than serving their customers. There were a few locals still outside, perhaps they'd been before and liked going there, but I cannot recommend the attitude and service of the majority of the staff to other tourists particularly those who don't speak Spanish. Ironic, that their most professional member of staff was the new waitress...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at La Foga, a fantastic restaurant that I would highly recommend. My experience was made even better thanks to our waiter Martin, who provided exceptional service throughout the evening.

We decided to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather, which added to the already great atmosphere of the restaurant. Martin was quick to greet us and make us feel at home. He was knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations for both food and drinks.

I decided to go with the pasta dish, which was outstanding. The sauce was flavorful and the pasta was cooked perfectly. We also appreciated the variety of drinks available, and Martin's recommendations were spot on.

Throughout the meal, Martin was attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed. He was friendly and approachable, making us feel like valued guests. We really appreciated his efforts to make our dining experience a memorable one.

Three wise men's night. We both have big smiles in our faces. Last presents wrapped up. The lights and atmosphere inside the place caught our attention. 'We could try to have something to eat '. The place is packed inside. ' If you are not too afraid of the cold' Martin, our waiter for the rest of the evening, wasn't trying to sell us anything but just the plain true: a chilly night but the terrace looked cozy. We sat and Martin looked after us. We couldn't ask for a better service. Our orders and needs were covered efficiently and with care. The food came in perfect condition: bravas with sauce on the side, veggie and chicken bao and two glasses of red wine. Food hot and well cooked ( the veggie Bao is excellent!!! ) and anything that was under Martin's responsibility was spotless. A place that sure we will...
