Restaurant Glòria — Restaurant in Barcelona

Rude owner. Kicked us out when we just tried to order a drink. Probably would have had some nibbles too, but why stay there? Enough nice places around here to be able to avoid this place.

The rude owner (who continued to throw insults at us as we walked away) was obviously trying to clear the tables ready for lunch time. It was 11:40 when we sat down, and most of the tables were empty. It took a while to receive any 'service' (in the loosest definition of the word!). When he finally came over at 12:00 he said we had to leave as we only wanted drinks. We probably would have had some food too, but the prices put us off.

Given the location, they probably know they can treat their potential customers however they like and get away with it. A shame, but probably true. I urge anyone else who receives the same treatment to review as I have done. Hopefully it will at least put off some people. But inevitably, the owners will be the only winners here, and any customer that does spend any of their valuable time and money there will undoubtedly be the losers.

This restaurant has incredibly good food preparation and the serving crew, while terse, is quick to deliver and tend to the needs of patrons.

They played old MTV music videos from the early 2000’s which is nice, but I didn’t prefer it, for personal reasons. I like to hear local music while in other countries, but some folks might enjoy the nostalgia.

The only reason for a deducted star was the terse nature of the staff. I don’t speak Spanish well, but I understand enough to tell when people are rude. They could very well be short staffed of course, but regardless it was deserving of a mention.

The price for the food is as expected. Not terribly expensive for a Westerner, but not cheap either. At this place you get what you pay for. It is very good food.

Edit: I upgraded the rating because, in spite of the music choice and mild service issue, the steak here...

-----NO GOOD RESTRANT..RACIST?..RUDE.RESTRANT......June 15, 2022..Around 11:30am...I stopped by this restaurant after a tour of the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona with my group of 6 PERSON...I ordered a beer, and one of them was on the way to the bathroom. And I heard racist remarks from a Filipino employee... Ching Chang Chong... I was angry... and asked if I was a racist. They said they had a similar pronunciation, but it was clearly a teasing tone, and he made remarks and actions to avoid. You should not go to a restaurant that is very offensive and racist. Also, no matter how many times you exchanged glances and raised your hand, you were not interested in ordering additional menus, nor did you look at them.../ I LOVE BARCELONA...
