Very disappointed by the food. My (Viet) family and I were excited because of the good reviews, but our experience was not that great. We had four dishes of which two were two different types of phở bò. The broth lacked a lot of flavour and missed the rich flavour of beef bone marrow that has been cooked for hours. The phở noodles were very undercooked (still partly hard). The meat was so chewy and there was barely any in the dish. Needless to say, almost €20 for a special phở is ridiculous. Never have I ever seen this price for phở! The bún bò huế was not authentic at all, and again, lacked flavour. It would actually be a shame to call this bún bò huế. The noodles used were too thin, so basically the wrong noodles were used. There was also no separate garnish plate (bean sprouts, mint, Thai basil, fresh peppers, cilantro), which is very unusual when eating any Vietnamese soup dishes. The only decent dish was the vegetarian fried spring roll noodles which is impossible to do wrong. However, it would have been nicer if the sauce was served separately because everything at the bottom became very salty and soggy. The food was very pricy for the quality and amount of food that you get.
You have to be patient too because the food did not come out very quickly (30 minutes - 1 hour) and it came separately, so the dishes became cold while we were waiting for everyone to get their dish.
When we visited, there were two to three other Viet families who had lunch there. It can be said that they were not particularly thrilled about the food as well. One family barely ate their bành mí which looked extremely dry and was very expensive (from my experience they are normally €5-€7).
The waiters were very friendly and the atmosphere of the place was cosy. The interior was great, especially with the beautifully painted walls.
I would not recommend other Viets to go here if you want an authentic and flavourful meal. I guess it is decent if you just want to experience...
Read moreJust ordered meat with rice option on the menu. The image clearly showed a boiled egg, fried pork and white rice.
I was served boiled pork in a soup, with a fried egg bullseye and white rice.
When I inquired saying this is not what was on the menu, the man said it is what is on the menu. Then I showed the picture and he had to agree. He called the cook to my table and the cook said that “It’s better with soup”. How outrageous. If it’s better with soup, then why put fried pork on the picture. Even how the egg was made is wrong. And if you give something completely different to what’s shown on the menu, why put a picture on the menu?
They asked to remove the soup. I didn’t understand the point of removing the soup. So that I have to eat boiled pork with white rice?
I said no and we had the food because it was really late. Then I heard the man telling the cook it should have been fried not cooked, in Spanish, probably thinking we wouldn’t understand. But didn’t even think of apologizing to the customer about the mistake.
After eating, when we paid the bill, the man asked if the food was okay, with not even a single apology for serving wrong food. When I asked him about serving the wrong food and not giving an apology, I got a forced half apology saying “We will change the image on the menu”.
Customer service is 0. Please don’t reply with a rude reply about the food being authentic. Because I saw that the restaurant has replied very rudely to low ratings and bad comments.
Serve whatever you show on the menu and accept when you are wrong and apologize! Simple...
