This is, without a doubt, the best croissant patisserie in the city - and I've tried most by this point!
I travelled relatively far to make sure I was there this morning for fresh croissants and ended up buying the pan au chocolat (I bought them with milk chocolate though there is an option for 'pure' dark chocolate as well) as well as a dussin croissants. Don't worry, this was for my family (mostly).
I was blown away by the quality of everything they made. The croissants were first class. Extremely buttery and soft inside, but with great structured layers as well as a crispy outside. It takes a massive amount of skill to pull this off.
The pan au chocolat was unbelievable. I am usually not a fan as most of the time, the croissant pastry is overdone and the chocolate itself turns grainy from the high baking temperature. Not at this bakery! It was wonderful and actually converted me to love pan au chocolat as well.
The picture I've added is of one of the pan au chocolat's ripped away from my kid before they could fully devour it.
Thank you Obrador del Croissant for the lovely pastries and friendly reception. I hope to make this a Sunday family tradition...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe best croissants I have ever had in my entire life. The chocolate croissant/pain au chocolat actually brought tears to my eyes. It's one of those foods I am probably going to think about for the rest of my life because no other croissant across the world has come close.
Also the almond croissant was amazing with actual ground almond paste and the ham and cheese croissant is an honorable mention!!
The bakery is very small (no seating) - I would not have found this place if not for the reviews so I wanted to echo the other reviews to confirm how good this place is. Worth it to go here - the croissants are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve tried 8 different pastry places in Barcelona all with varying levels of quality, from here they are exceptional and on a different level to the others I tried. I wish Iād been able to catch them whilst they were still warm but they were fantastic cold, absolutely wonderful pastries, so good I went back twice in the same day! The thick chocolate in the pain au chocolate and the abundant filling in the almond croissant made for a wonderful breakfast. Fully recommend coming here even if you have to go out of your way a little - I walked 30 minutes to come back before they closed for the day and it...
