I went 2 days ago after reading a post in instagram by a travel account I follow. I should have seen that was a paid advertisement 😪 It took 10min till somebody noticed us standing up. The waiters were abording our look for attention, and when finally we were sit and ask in Catalan for the menu, as we are locals, the waiter looked at us funny and came back with a menu in Spanish. We asked again for a Catalan version as by our Government law they should have AT LEAST the restaurant communications in this language. The waiter then said a harsh NO and stayed there in an awkward silence, so we leaved the place.
We waited a lot of time politely and in the same way we asked for a menu in our language that is minoritarian and for this reason is protected by law. We feel not welcomed when a establishment ignore the law and our rights.
“All people have the right not to be discriminated against for linguistic reasons" "Consumers must be able to be served orally and in writing in one of the official languages in Catalonia. (Catalan or Spanish) that they choose to use.” Statute of Autonomy of Catalonia, 2006.
I would like to give a kind remind that the Governmentgives FREE Catalan courses for any newcomer or worker who needs it, and that this language shares similitudes with Spanish, language that the waiters mainly speak.
I am doing a formal complaint to the...
Read moreIf you’re not from Barca, do not eat here. The “Tourist Go Home” vibes are blatant.
With hesitation and annoyance, we were given a table. We ordered 5 plates and a couple glasses of wine. The first couple of plates arrived quickly. However, the remaining plates never arrived. Everyone else (who were seated after us) was receiving their food.
When we asked our server if we were going to be receiving the rest of our food, she rolled her eyes and walked away.
After waiting about 20 mins, we asked her for our check. She rolled her eyes and walked away again.
Eventually we got up and asked the chef for our check. The check included all the items we order but never received. We told the chef that we didn’t receive all of the items we ordered and asked the server if that was true. She argued with us and told us we had received everything but that was a lie. Eventually, the chef removed the items we didn’t order and let us pay.
I wish I could review the food but we only received two plates. They were mediocre compared to other seafood we’ve had in Barca.
The service and attitude at Lluritu is a joke. Don’t eat here. They are...
Read moreA bit of a disappointing experience. We came here on recommendation of a friend. We had made a reservation, but it wasn't necessary since there were about 5 other customers. We checked the menu, but, having eaten a lot of paella over the previous days, half of the menu didn't really appeal. So we decided to just go with a starter of beef cheeks and razor clams. It took 40 minutes for us to get our food. 40 minutes in a 90% empty restaurant? Everyone else was having meal after meal delivered. Were we being punished due to not ordering more food? Probably not. But we did wonder. I'm not sure if the waiter overheard us talking about leaving, but he came and apologetically told us it would be 1 more minute.
So how was the food? Not great. The razor clams were as chewy as a dog toy. The beef cheek was fine, but a bit on the cold side.
Given the other rave reviews, maybe we just had bad luck. Maybe the kitchen forgot our order. But there's no way we should have to wait 40 minutes for a starter in a mostly...
