If I could give zero stars I would. As a back story my wife and I were looking for a place for dinner. The first place we went to, the line was too long. The second, had stopped taking orders. The third, said we needed a reservation. My wife said she was going to pass out if she didn’t sit down and eat something soon so the closest restaurant we could see was Lonja de Tapas. So we went here. In hindsight my wife said to me at the end of the night she would rather have passed out than eaten their food. Our bill was 40 EUR. We are from Australia and with the current economic times the Australian dollar doesn’t covert very well to the EUR. So that 40 EUR is around 70 Australian dollars. We only ordered tapas, an orange drink and water. The food was The octopus, chicken croquets and Camembert cheese. The cheese was alright. Nothing more nothing less. However the octopus was terrible. Slimy pieces of octopus meat, clearly not cleaned well. I honestly felt like the poor octopus had just been taken out of the ocean, cut to pieces and put on the grill. It Tasted like the Pacific Ocean. Now for the chicken croquets. This was pretty much just oven food which I didn’t know was possible to get so wrong. I cut into the croquet and it was ice cold in the middle. We told the waitress and she just took it away without saying anything. She then brought another serving back which was cooked through. All in all the food was terrible as confirmed by other recent reviews. Given the state of my wife, we failed to read any reviews. (This will never happen again). My frustration is that this place is in a really good location. The prices are way overpriced and the food is well below par. So bad that I have never ever sent food back and this was the first time. I normally just take the “L”. Additionally this is my first ever review of a restaurant… EVER. Lonja de Tapas now takes the gold medal in my worst food experience ever. The last place was a restaurant in New Zealand’s South Island. That New Zealand restaurant is Michelin star compared to Lonja de...

Just arrived in Barcelona today and stumbled upon this place. Sat down, ordered the papas bravas, tomato salad with tuna belly, crispy pawns, and the steak and fries. We ordered the steak medium rare. The first 3 plates were great. But when the steak came, it was extremely over cooked. The center had zero pink and was tough to cut around the edges. We asked the waitress if this was medium rare and she was immediately very rude and whisked the plate away, shouting to her coworker that we said it was over cooked. Then the coworker came over with the same steak and said this is how you ordered it. You should have ordered rare if you want pink. We tried to cut in to show the edges and how well done it was. This waitress snatched it up. No less than 5 minutes later, they brought a steak that visibly was raw. We cut into it and the plate was bloody. We said this wasn’t edible and please cook it just a little more. It was returned 2 minutes later, still just as raw. The waitress was extremely rude at each encounter. We ended up saying just never mind about the steak. I would not recommend...

Escape this place. They proposed us their dégustation menu for 2 persons claiming that it is so big that would be enough for 6 people (we were 4) and said the price is what is mentioned in the menu multipled twice. But, as we saw after, our bill was much more than we had ordered. The servant told us that since we were seating outside all menu prices were 15% more. Although I am very careful with this type of cheatings and had asked the other servant how much would be 2 menues of degustation and he never mentioned about the extra price for outside. Besides that, 2 portion was soooo smal that it would feed only 1 slim girl like me :)) Then they said that they don't have bread, instead they could bring us some tapas (bread with tomato), although in a minutes they served normal bread to the next table where there were some locals eating. It was just a stupid upsell for tourists like us.

Taste was ok, but they just cheat tourists. I will never even think to visit this place and don't recommend if you...

We went here tonight just for some lunch, didn’t read anything about it but i checked the reviews while i was in there, someone said that the ham croquettes were mediocre but i thought they were pretty good. I also had the shrips, they were okay. It’s the same with the meatballs, they’re called meatballs but there was no meat in them which i was confused about, it was more cheese balls than meatballs. The bread was awful, it was soggy and just horrible to eat, thats probably why it was so cheap at €2.50. The service was decent i don’t think the waitress spoke much english but the food was quick to the table. The bathroom was okay quite dark but atleast it had a functioning hand dryer unlike some places in Barcelona. The price was reasonable for the amount we got. Overall okay experience i’m sure theres better options for food around that area considering there was only 1 other table occupied while i was there.

We had a very nice lunch today. A cosy and welcoming place with its great staff and a lot of choice on the menu. The tapas ordered weren’t that expensive and really delicious. Again, the waiters were super nice to us even if we did only have a basic Spanish level. The service was super fast as well we didn’t wait for more than 5 minutes. I personally don’t understand the bad reviews this place has been receiving because we all had a good moment at this place and the decoration was aesthetic. We could even see the cooks thanks the open glazed kitchen, which is often reassuring and proves that the quality will be there. I would recommend it if you want to get good tapas in Barcelona 👍 Thanks Lonja de Tapas 😊

We went there on a Saturday evening without reservation, so it was nice they could offer a table. However, it quickly became clear, probably why it was so empty. We ordered some fried peppers, which were okay, shrimps which were not particularly well prepared, it was exceptionally difficult to peel them, as well as some cheese, which was served in a disgusting plate with some cubes of god knows what. The worst dish was certainly the "catalan bread with tomato", which had nothing in common with the original dish. It was some bread with some tomato purée on top, that caused the bread to be watery. Generally going through the menu, the only "tapas thing" was the word "tapas" in the title...
