This Korean restaurant is conveniently located downstairs of my building and I haven't had Asian food for while so I was craving this. I walked past it a couple times and notice that they do have a BBQ pit built into the table. That's the first I've seen here in Barcelona.
Any, I came here today with the bf and my dog so we sat outside. They have 2 tables for outdoor seating. There are also 2 different lunch menus with a lot of options. I've posted the pics on here. Price ranges from 10.50€ - 13.50€ for menu of the day.
We got 2 lunch menu and on top of that there were 5 complimentary dishes. Miso soup - good Pickled turnip - my favorite Pickled bean sprouts Pickled cucumber Potato
Appetizers: Empanadilla aka pot stickers - okay Kimbap aka sushi roll with cooked meat - different. Nothing amazing
Entree Barbacoa Tenera - this is something you cook on the grill but since we were outside, they cooked it for us. The meat was so dry and really tough. Bimbap de Tenera - 10x better than the other entree. The server mixes all the ingredients in front of you. I love leaving the rice in the clay pot a little longer so the rice is crispy.
Dessert Vanilla ice cream - I believe it's vanilla bean and that's my favorite Flan with whip
The service was great. The food was so so. They can definitely improve in the...
Read moreA few years ago, I discovered Korean cuisine with bibimbap and bulgogi. I loved both and I decided to try more of it. At that time, there were very few Korean restaurants in Barcelona. But nowadays, they're pretty common. So I'm trying them all 💪. As part of that quest, a few weeks ago, I met for lunch with a couple of friends at Shingané. Shingané offers a lunch special for €12.5, which is a pretty standard price for lunch specials in Barcelona. What's less standard is the quantity of food you get for that price: a big first course, a huge main course and a dessert (or a coffee). To be honest, it's not even worth ordering the whole menu because you eat more than enough with a bibimbap which onlys costs €8.5. Plus the desserts included in the menu are not Korean desserts... 🤷♂️ We got to try the kimbap, which was ok, fried dumplings that were great 🤩 and a very good bibimbap. It was very good, as I said, but it lacked some X factor to make it great. But let's be honest, for such a price, there's nothing to complain about. ✌️ The atmosphere of the venue is kind of kitsch and the service is decent, a bit cold but efficient. Overall a great cheap and tasty lunch. 😊

Read moreYummy authentic Korean restaurant, however the quality of the meat was sub standard, the kimchi costs 5(!!!)€ and you even have to order lettuce on the side for 4€. The 육개장 was amazing, as was the 김밥 & other side dishes. The desserts were absolutely terrible. We ordered red bean ice cream and some kind of pancakec with red bean inside for 4€ each. The ice cream was icy and tasteless and the pancake was terribly dry, tasteless and the red bean inside it was crumbling due to being so dry. How they dare charge 4€ for that is a mystery to me. However the food (not considering the meat) was very good and authentic so I'd still go back. But don't order their desserts. Definitely a bit overpriced for the korean bbq, but if you order kimbap, soups & noodle dishes, or bibimbap - the price Definitely matches the taste...
