An Unforgettable Dining Experience at Silan in Barcelona, Spain
One of the best restaurants our family has ever been to, period. From the starters to the desserts, every dish was full of bold, vibrant flavors, clearly crafted by a chef who cooks with both skill and heart.
We began with the sample starter and their house challah bread, served with an assortment of delicious dips, each one unique and deeply flavorful. The bread itself was outstanding, warm, soft, and freshly baked.
For mains, we shared a variety of dishes including the pastrami sandwich, falafel, and chicken shawarma, each cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. The balance of spices, textures, and presentation was truly impressive. The pita bread was so perfect. Thick soft and fluffy with excellent taste.
We ended the meal with their cheesecake and chocolate desserts, and they were just as exceptional as the savory courses, rich, satisfying, and a perfect sweet finish to an amazing dinner.
Silan offers not just great food, but a full culinary experience. It’s clear that every detail is thoughtfully executed and the chef cooks with a passionyou can taste. Our whole family left feeling delighted and full. Highly...
Read moreDear Michaela,
I just had to write and tell you that you've officially ruined all other dining experiences for me - and I mean that in the best possible way! Your encyclopedic knowledge of Silan's menu and that radiant smile of yours have set an impossibly high bar for restaurant service everywhere.
The way you described each dish was like listening to a food poet! I swear, you could make a grocery list sound like a Michelin star menu. That cauliflower appetizer? Thanks to your passionate description, I now have a deep emotional connection with a vegetable I used to only tolerate at family dinners. And that pastrami sandwich? Your detailed explanation made it sound so good, I think I actually heard angels singing when I took the first bite.
You're not just good at your job, Michaela - you're like the David Attenborough of Middle Eastern cuisine, narrating the epic journey of each dish with such enthusiasm and charm!
With sincere appreciation (and a slightly fuller...
Read moreBefore you consider going here be sure to read this review. This place is beyond overpriced, it's an absolute rip-off. I am not a tourist, I've lived in this area for 4 years, and this is the most expensive place I've been to in the area for very normal, nothing special food. Don't be fooled by the drinks either: The homemade lemonade costs 4.50€. It comes in a tiny glass filled mostly with ice. And they charge 2.40€ for a tiny bottle of water, whereas in any other restaurant you'd get one twice the size for the same price. What's more, they add 10% to the bill for sitting outside in the terrace area (but of course they don't tell you that until the end). Interestingly, when we complained, the waiter said he fully agreed with us but sadly couldn't do anything about it. The positive reviews are probably from tourists who don't realise how damaging these kinds of places are to the local economy, pushing up prices to the point that no local would ever go there. I sure...
