Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Hype
We dined at Via Granados expecting a high-quality experience based on its 4.5-star rating, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations.
From the moment we arrived, the service felt disorganised. The hostess seemed startled and unprepared to greet us, though she quickly found our reservation and seated us. A waiter handed us menus and took our drink order, but service quickly went downhill.
We ordered sparkling water and red wine. The water arrived still, and the wine—which had a cork—was simply placed on our table unopened. The waiter then walked away, sat down, and began eating his own dinner, leaving us without wine glasses or a corkscrew. 👀👀
After waiting 15 minutes, we had to ask another staff member to bring glasses and open the bottle.
The food was equally disappointing. Our starter of scallops was tiny and overcooked, though the Padrón peppers and asparagus were fine. Then, 20 minutes after ordering, we were told that our main course of octopus was unavailable, forcing us to choose something else. We opted for lamb cutlets, while our seafood paella continued cooking.
When the mains arrived, both were overcooked. The seafood paella was dry, and the lamb cutlets were so thin and overdone that they were barely recognisable as lamb. Given the price point, this was a real disappointment, especially compared to three other similarly priced restaurants we visited in the same area, all of which were far superior in both service and quality.
Sadly, Via Granados did not live up to its strong rating, and based on our experience, we...
Read moreWorst meal in Barcelona :( We was looking for a tapas restaurant local to our hotel for our first night and after reading the fabulous reviews here and also them having plenty of vegetarian options we thought this would be a hit… how it was not. I ordered the buratta salad but asked for no olives as I’m allergic. Well when it came out I had a bowl of rocket with a buratta on top and two cherry tomatoes?! No pesto no Parmesan no sundried tomatoes nothing. It’s like because I had asked for no olives the chef thought it would be funny and be difficult with my request. My partner had the steak and chips was burnt to a crisp. We ordered fries and potatoes with aioli as sides and realised after we left instead of being charged 2 euros for the potatoes with aioli we was charged 7? We ordered the Camembert to start which was lovely but stone cold. I also asked for a cocktail and was told they didn’t do them but when they gave us a dessert menu it came with a whole list of cocktails? Was very very disappointed in the restaurant. We was the only customers in there at the time so no excuse for such dreadful service and awful food. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone really...
Read moreI visited here and had an appalling experience that made me feel unsafe and disrespected as a woman. While using the restroom, an employee attempted to unlock the door twice, even though I loudly said, "I'm using it, stop!" Despite my protests, he ignored me, shook the door violently, and replied, "Just a second," before unlocking the door the second time. He offered no apology afterward. I reported this to the manager, but instead of addressing the issue, he accused me of staying in the restroom for 30 minutes—an outright lie. I entered the restaurant at 9:10 PM and reported the incident at 9:25 PM. I only stayed in the restroom for a few minutes to rest due to severe menstrual cramps. The manager dismissed my concerns by claiming their staff has poor English skills, but the employee who invaded my privacy spoke fluent English. This excuse felt like an attempt to avoid accountability. I left feeling violated, unsafe, and deeply disappointed by the restaurant's lack of respect for basic human rights. This behavior is unacceptable, and I hope the management reflects on how they treat their customers,...
