Aside from the food the chef needs to rethink how you ‘sell’. After we went for the vintage cava (95€, price was communicated), he was very enthusiastic proposing us some wines (of which we were served economic servings). We never got the chance to ask for his advice on the different options (as they “dont have a wine menu for wines by the glass because they like to change the offer”), he just came to the table with the bottle of wine he wanted us to drink, what was kind of strange, but we went with the flow. He eventually left the restaurant mid menu and when we got the bill the wine he proposed was charged at no less than 20€ per glass. We had expected to pay more for a wine recommended by the chef, but 20€ per glass (=120€ a bottle) is just ridiculous. We felt tricked, as we knew wine per bottle at the restaurant starts at around 30€ a bottle. If you do this, communicate the price with your clients and don’t leave your staff having to explain. This is not respectful for them neither for us. Next to that, 17 courses are not courses when 3 of them at the end of the menu are small mignardises, 2 of them amuses at the beginning of the menu. Also the price of the menu went up with 20€ pp between the time we booked and the time we went, and we were not advised. It’s not that we would have cancelled knowing, but it’s all about communication. It’s not because it’s a Michelin star restaurant clients will pay blindly what you charge, my advise is to be more transparant. We can compare with others and I must say we have never experienced something like this. And although we were in a starred restaurant, we left feeling we just had dinner in a tourist trap, of which i’m certain that can’t be the goal. To end with a positive note kudos to all the other staff, they did a great job and were extremely friendly. I actually wanted to give 2 stars, but that would be not...

With a well-deserved Michelin star, Slow & Low is a place where you can enjoy exquisite food in a welcoming environment. The ambiance is a harmonious blend of rustic charm and contemporary elegance. The soft, warm lighting and the tasteful decor create an inviting atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. The open kitchen design allows you to witness the magic as it happens, adding an element of theatre to the dining experience.
Chef Nicolas is not just a master of his craft, but also a charismatic host with a contagious passion for food. He happily took the time to discuss with us, sharing stories about his dishes, their ingredients, and his culinary journey. This personal touch adds a unique dimension to the dining experience, making it feel like an extraordinary meal at a friend's home.
Each dish is a culinary masterpiece, crafted with carefully sourced ingredients and presented with impeccable attention to detail. The flavors are deep, complex, and truly harmonious. The "Long" tasting menu (along with the wine pairing option, which I highly recommend) is definitely the way to go.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Slow & Low and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special dining experience...

As I travel I look to find new gastronomic experiences. Some times food stalls, some times Michelin star.
Slow&Low is the latter, and completely deserving of the star.
I found the whole 'performance' perfect. Food, Service, Ambience, was excellent.
I think the price is also exactly correct for the quality of food & service provided.
If you're looking for a Michelin Star experience in Barcelona, I doubt you will be disappointed here. I could not fault one course.
Update : Oct 22 ‘25 Managed to return for a 2nd visit, and enjoyed it just as much as last time. With just a couple of *’s
I thought there were 1 or 2 too many dishes where a spice was the over-riding flavor. And I love ALL spices, but I often think a spice with heat can over power the true flavor.
** I was a little disappointed in the extra seafood box, which incurred a 30 Euro supplement. Part of this disappointment relates to my first point, the flavor should have been the seafood/fish, not the various spices.
Other than these points, I’m already planning to return the next time I’m in Barcelona, next May.
Their signature dish of tomato with a cheese cracker and cheese foam/whip is still an all time classic, with simple flavors that pack a punch and work perfectly together.
Service was perfect, as...
