We’ll definitely be coming back to this place — it’s truly a hidden gem in Barcelona.
I made a reservation for Saturday dinner and arrived a bit earlier than booked. They had just opened, so we were the only table at first. Honestly, we didn’t expect much — but once the food started arriving, we were blown away. Every single dish exceeded our expectations.
The person who welcomed us, took our order, and served us was the same — he might be the owner or manager. He was incredibly warm and welcoming, and spoke excellent English. He patiently introduced each dish to us.
Our kids always order patatas bravas at local restaurants, and he even asked if we wanted the sauces mixed or served separately — which was perfect for our family, as we each have different preferences.
My older daughter ordered the beef sirloin and said it was delicious — her little sister kept asking for more bites! Since they’re children, we requested it medium-well, and it was cooked perfectly.
I shared the low-temperature cod with my younger daughter — it was a generous portion and completely boneless, which made it safe for her. I’m a very picky eater and never eat fish skin… but I did today! It was that good ,not a hint of fishiness.
My husband was obsessed with the dish featuring fried ranch egg with foie gras and black truffle. He never eats runny yolks, but somehow this dish won him over.
Now I have to mention the paella — it was absolutely perfect for our palate. Most local paellas tend to be too salty for me as Asian, but this one was wonderfully balanced. Both my husband and I loved it and finished every bite. It wasn’t even on the menu — the manager personally recommended it. What’s even better: it can be ordered as a single portion, so there’s low risk in trying it out — and the portion was still generous anyway.
We also fell in love with their unique desserts. The “Dracula” dessert combines raspberry, cola ice shake and cream — fun and playful.
My husband is a total dessert lover who buys cakes daily. Today he tried the special dessert of the day — white chocolate with cherry coulis — and said it was absolutely divine.
We’re already looking forward to coming back with friends and family to share our favorites and discover more. Highly...

I don’t often write reviews, but this experience demands it. From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for something special, but what unfolded completely surpassed every expectation. This wasn’t just dinner; this was an artful, heartfelt journey through taste, service, and ambiance.
The food? Simply unforgettable. I started with both kinds of croquettes, classic jamón and earthy mushroom. Delicate on the outside, warm and rich within. Then came the burrata, paired unexpectedly with a slightly sweet bread that was nothing short of genius. The contrast brought out the creaminess of the cheese in a way I’ve never experienced.
Then came the entrées, three stars, no exaggeration. The cordero (lamb) fell effortlessly off the bone, full of deep, soulful flavor. The tuna tartare was perhaps the best I’ve ever had, its sauce perfectly balanced, elevating the freshness of the fish without overpowering it. And the steak tartare, bold, tangy, and elevated by its mustard and silky egg was absolutely spectacular. Every dish felt like it had been carefully composed with exceptional ingredients and a genuine love for food.
Service was just as exceptional. Our server, Jordi (or Jordy), treated us not like customers, but like guests. Attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable without being distant. He guided us through the menu, clarified anything we asked, and even took the time to share pieces of Spanish culture and local recommendations for our stay in Barcelona. It’s rare to find service this warm and professional at once.
The setting was elegant yet comfortable. Spotless, beautifully designed, with a relaxed vibe. The music was perfectly tuned to the room pleasant and modern but soft enough to let us enjoy conversation.
Every element from the presentation to the pacing, the flavors to the atmosphere was masterfully orchestrated. This restaurant doesn’t just serve food; it creates memories. If you find yourself in Barcelona, don’t miss this place. It’s more than a meal, it’s an experience...
Read moreOn a rainy night in Barcelona I didn't want to stray far from the hotel. I searched for restaurants near me and this was one of the best reviewed restaurants that happened to be open and was perhaps 100 meters from my hotel, Hotel Via Augusta. I read the most recent reviews and they seemed to be excellent. I try to remain vegan and saw menu items that met my requirements. However, the menu changes and what I saw photographs of was for a lunch menu some months ago. The host is named Jordi. He's a kind man and was willing to work with me on alternatives. He and his chef came up with a vegetarian pasta that was simply prepared, flavorful, and satisfied my hunger. Jordi told me to come for lunch the next day for better options and I did. When I returned, I asked if I could have the same table as the night before. He politely explained that he has a regular guest that sits at the table for lunch and instead offered an equally good table. I had a tasty cauliflower based meal that I complemented with dessert and a very good wine. Jordi had been speaking with guests about places to see while in Barcelona the previous night. I had been unsuccessful getting tickets to La Sagrada Familia and Jordy asked if I had been to Casa Vicens. I had not and didn't know anything about it though I had been in Barcelona before and thought I had seen most Gaudi's, including the Bishop's house in Astorga. Jordi said this was Gaudi's first commission and was 8 minutes from my hotel. So I spent the morning before lunch visiting the house and I thanked Jordi for the recommendation. Gaudi's talents are evident from the start. Jordi also recommended that I visit Hospital Sant Pau. He said it was close to La Sagrada Familia so I promised to visit after lunch and I did. The complex was designed by a contemporary of Gaudi's and the influences of both are evident. All this to say that La Flor de Barcelona was much, much more than I imagined and Jordi is a wonderful host who spends genuine time with...
