DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE DUE TO TERRIBLE SERVICE
Beautiful terrace and good food ā but none of that matters when the service makes you feel unwelcome and ignored.
We arrived at The Rooftop around 7:30 PM and asked for a table at the bar with a view of the city. We were told to wait until 9:00 PM. We stayed, but after 9 PM, we clearly saw several tables become available ā yet either no one was seated at them, or new guests were seated, but not us. When we politely asked the staff about the availability, the hostess approached us and snapped rudely, saying: āJust because youāre asking doesnāt mean a table will become available.ā It was unnecessarily hostile and completely unprofessional.
Eventually, only around 10:00 PM, after another reminder to the waiter, we were seated ā in the furthest corner of the bar area.
From that point, things got even worse. Around 11:00 PM, a large group with children was seated near us. The kids were running, shouting, and completely blocked the path between the bar, the pool, and the rest of the terrace. We were literally stuck. No staff could see us, and no one came to take our order. We had to get up and walk either to the hostess or to the opposite bar just to place an order ā because despite waving and waiting, no one acknowledged us for nearly an hour.
Letās be clear: the issue isnāt with the children themselves, but with the lack of space planning and zoning. A rooftop with cocktails, a pool, and a night-time setting is simply not a place for active kids at 11 PM. And when their presence blocks other guests from even accessing service ā thatās a clear failure of management. Especially when many other tables were visibly available.
Having paid a significant amount per person, we didnāt get a relaxed evening ā but discomfort, frustration, and the sense that we were not welcome. Yes, the food is good. Yes, the view is lovely. But thereās no atmosphere and absolutely no respect for the guest.
Definitely not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe booked a table for NYE despite some negative reviews but I wish we hadnāt! After looking through the menu, we waited a while for the waiter to come over, as a pescatarian I was looking forward to enjoying one of the three seafood dishes on their menu only to be told they were out of two of the dishes (first disappointment considering it was nye), so I ordered a prawn dish, only to subsequently be told about 15 mins later that they were out of that too.
By this point we had been there over 40 mins so I reluctantly ordered the Shakshuka, we waited a while and my husbands food finally came - a cold cheeseburger and cold chips. I waited a further 20 mins for my food as he finished his. When my dish came, it didnāt include two of the ingredients (tofu and feta), it was also bland and looked like something out of a tin. I asked the staff about the lack of ingredients and said apologised. They said theyād make another one and it would only take 10 mins. I reluctantly agreed as I was hungry and we had been there over an hour at the point.
We waited 15 mins and the food still hadnāt come, so we cancelled dish, paid for what we had and left.
We werenāt alone in the experiencing terrible service, the table of 3 behind us arrived just before us, had one dish served and were still waiting on their other two dishes when we left.
We were so disappointed - all style and no substance! An hour and 40 mins later, 1 cold dish and 2 drinks for ā¬30.
Save your time and money, thereās thousands of cheaper and better...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe terrace is very nice, with a beautiful view at Casa Mila. We enjoyed the vibe, music and nice service. The price is also fine, considering that itās rooftop bar. The only thing which I didnāt like the treatment by a person who stands next to elevator. I even donāt know what exactly he is doing there. My friend and I wanted to go to this terrace after work, but this person told us that itās full. Without offering us to wait in the bar until there will be a free table at the rooftop, or inviting us to reserve a table for another day(this is what is usually offered in other terraces) We were a bit shocked, so we went to eat to another terrace, and on the way back we decided to have some drinks in the bar on the ground floor at the end of all. And the bartender asked us where do we want to sit, here or at the rooftop. We were surprised that at the end of all it is possible to sit at the bar on the rooftop, so we went there. But we decided to come again to that man next to the elevator, and ask him if itās possible to go to the rooftop, and he again said no š¤¦š»āāļø we said we were told we can go there in the bar, and now that man finally decided to ask other people if we can go, and receptionists I guess said yes sure š I donāt know why he didnāt want to let us go, and we felt sad that we had to go to another place to eat, as it looks like if we would go initially to ask about rooftop in the bar and not this man, we could enjoy...
