As a Japanese, I was deeply disappointed! First of all, very expensive! They charge €9 for just “Kake Udon”(this is the simplest Udon, which is literally noodle and soup) If you want to add toppings, you need to pay more. (If you want “Tempura” topping, you need to plus 9€!!) In Japan, Udon is kind of “fastfood” and nobody wants to spend 18€ just for “Tempura Udon” even in Barcelona. Better to go to other Japanese restaurants serving Udon. (I see a lot of Japanese tourists but local japanese living here.) Also about their Tempura quality... their tempura stayed my stomach very heavily and felt very greasy. This doesn’t normally happen if you cook with fresh oil. I think they use the same brown oil repeatedly. Another shame point; they are using Japanese grown rice, called “Akita-komachi”(this is good!) but they cook it too soft for serving. It is a good place to know, “what Udon is” but just one time is enough!

Absolutely delicious Niku Don! After a few days of Spanish and Mediterranean food, we were looking for some comfort food and chanced upon this Japanese restaurant which is near to our hotel. The interior was simple but functional. What I particularly like is that the tables are well spread out so you don't feel claustrophobic unlike the restaurants in Japan, especially the popular ones. The food is also very authentic. We especially like the Niku Don. It is really delicious, and comes with a generous serving of beef. The gravy is tasty and yet not salty. The Tempura Don and Udon are also nice. The only disappointment (at least to us) is the Katsu Don. The katsu is a bit tough for our liking. Overall, well worth a visit especially if you crave Japanese food.

Service was fast (though not impeccable). I didn't have a particularly memorable nor outstanding experience here. Part of this might be because I don't eat pork and many dishes, like the katsu curry, contain pork by default in the sauce. I don't know why they have the high ratings they do - but again, I might not be their target audience! The karaage was good though missing dipping sauce, imo. Wakame salad needed more of a kick. Prices were very reasonable. Atmosphere was very lacking.

This spot is amazing. My boyfriend and I had been searching for a 5-star udon restaurant, and we really hit the jackpot here. They make everything to order, so it isn't ready in 5 minutes, but it is absolutely worth the wait. I also appreciate that they offer a variety of customizations and add one for each dish. It is truly authentic Japanese udon cuisine. The space is great, it's in a convenient location, but outside of the main bustle of Barcelona's City center, and the menu is offered in several languages for convenience to a variety of travelers! This is a must stop for...
