The hotel was well located, room was clean and the facilities met expectations. We were generally enjoying our stay until a very disappointing experience with a staff member during check-out significantly impacted our overall impression.
On the morning of June 10th around 8:00 AM, the elevator was out of service. I approached the front desk to ask for assistance with our two large suitcases, as our room was on the third floor and my partner has back problems. The woman on duty informed me that she was the only staff member available and quote ‘this is a 3-star hotel, there is no bellhop or luggage porter’. While I understand the limitations of a 3-star property, I found this comment a little rude and believe a minimum level of assistance or at least a more empathetic response was warranted—especially given that the issue stemmed from a facility malfunction on the hotel’s part.
When I asked again, the request was flatly refused, and the staff member’s tone was unhelpful and dismissive. We weren’t expecting her to carry everything herself, but some form of support or at least clearer, more respectful communication would have made a big difference.
Interestingly, after we had nearly carried all the bags down ourselves, the same staff member suddenly appeared to offer help—by which point it was too late. This felt insincere and performative rather than genuinely service-oriented.
Unfortunately, this interaction left us with a very negative final impression of what had otherwise been a decent stay. We hope management will address this to ensure a more supportive and professional attitude toward guests, especially when unforeseen issues like elevator...
Read moreGreat location, didn’t love the room issues we had or man at reception. It was hot most nights we stayed - and the AC didn’t work. We inquired at the front desk, which told us that the AC was off for the season, and there was only heat. Annoying, but tolerable with a balcony, and the nice woman at the front desk supplied us a fan. Issue #2: They had us relocate rooms mid-stay due to our shower ‘leaking into the next room’, so they “upgraded” us to a four-person room, which had 4 double beds instead of our prior queen bed. Again annoying, but tolerable. The room we moved to wasn’t the cleanest, and had a few pieces of broken glass on the floor which I picked up. After showering, this shower also leaked, except into our room, all over the floor. When we told the man at reception at the front desk and requested extra towels just in case, he begrudgingly put in a note for maintenance to come and fix it and for towels - no apology for the troubles (again). Maintenance came, but no extra towels, nor did they do any extra cleaning after we had to wipe up the water. The restaurant was closed during our stay, so no room service options unfortunately. I stayed awake too many nights due to it being hot and the beds only having a comforter, no flat sheet. Didn’t love the pillows either. Overall not a...
Read moreCAUTION STOLEN LUGGAGE!!!
Last August 28th we stayed in Limonaia. Upon arrival we were told that the hot water was not working. When we asked them to store our luggage for us while we returned to Barcelona, they told us that they were going to store it in a space where guests did not have access. However, days later, Camilo, the hotel manager, wrote to us to inform us that a "guest" had stolen one of our suitcases with personal belongings worth around 2,000 dollars. They told us that the hotel had insurance for these cases but that we would have to present the invoices for the belongings that were in the suitcase. So we did it and today, 6 months later, we still have no response from Camilo, the hotel manager, who has stopped answering our messages for weeks.
