A few months ago, my son started studying 🇫🇷. He speaks 🇫🇷 cause he speaks with me, but he's young and he still has to learn how to write and read in 🇫🇷, and I don't think parents are the best teachers so... every week, he's gonna spend 2h studying it after school instead of playing with his friends...😔 We'll have to take him there and then wait for him. We can also come back home, cause it's not too far then come back to pick him up. We'll see. But it was raining that first day so my wife and I decided to go toYi Fang, a 🧋 place around the corner. I'm gonna be honest, I'm not a tea drinker. And I'm a huge coffee drinker, but I feel that I've been drinking too much ☕️ lately so I wanted to change. Plus, at these types of places, they serve fruit tea, which basically is fruit juice with some tea in it. Or at least that tastes like fruit and not like tea. That's why I suggested Yi Fang. The place is more elegant than other 🧋 places I know and I think it's a better place to chill or work than these other places. I ordered a 🍍 green tea. In the picture, the drink was yellow like 🍍 so I was expecting, as explained before, something that mainly tasted like 🍍. And I got something that only tasted like tea. So I opened the lid to see what was inside the cup: the beverage was brownish like tea, not yellow like 🍍 or like the picture. 🥴 So I went to the counter to check if there was a mistake and the clerk told me that there were pieces of 🍍 inside the tea... First off, that's not what I was expecting... plus I'm still looking for these pieces of 🍍... So she offered to put more 🍍 chunks inside (that seemed like candied🍍, btw). This way, whenever I caught some, the drink tasted a bit different, but yeah, this wasn't what I was expecting or what I experienced in other 🧋 places. 🥺 I didn't enjoy that beverage at all. 👎

So I got an answer from YiFang and, since I can't reply answers, I'll do it here:
YiFang said "you posted the same thing on Instagram months ago": Yes, I'm sorry, I've been busy and couldn't post this here sooner.
YiFang said: "Looking at your profile, I think you have a more distinctive palate.": I don't know what this means... everybody has a distinctive palate, no?
YiFang said: "The green tea you ordered had and still has a yellowish tinge—that's its color. You saw it darker because you ordered it hot and with tapioca pearls." No, I did not order it hot. I would not order hot tea (except for mint tea).
YiFang said: "We also understand that you want to level up by adding more reviews." To level up in Maps, I'd literally have to add more than 100 reviews like this one (with no pics) so, no, that's not the reason. I just like sharing my opinion and let people know what to expect.
Finally, you keep taking this the wrong way but I just state the facts, which is that at YiFang people won't find the same teas as at other tea places. I didn't like this one, and I think there was a mistake in my order. But that does not mean others won't like it. That's just my...
Read moreBubble Trouble in the Best Way 🧋😎 The fruit teas are punchy, the bobas have that perfect chewy bounce, and the ice somehow doesn’t water everything down by the time you hit the bottom (someone give their ice machine a raise). If you’re the type who picks your drink by color, go wild.
Big shoutout to the staff, smiling, speedy, and full of good energy even while I was sweating buckets at the counter. They even helped me pick a drink when I hit my classic bubble tea panic (“Should I go fruity? Milky? How much sugar before I vibrate out of my seat?”).
Of course I will come back, the summer...
Read moreI'm a big fan of yi fang in Montreal, and was excited to find one in Barcelona during our trip to Spain. I didn't get long to experience the shop because we ran in right before closing, but the staff were kind and patient despite us not speaking Spanish and placing a large order near the end of their night. The tea was excellent as always—on that front I can always recommend yi fang. Their oolong tea with milk is especially not...
