My summary to the unknown readers of this review, is that this place is far from the Coastal Spain experience and one that I thoroughly recommend.
When you visit an area that's previously unknown, it’s like that you will visit review websites such as Google and that's just what I did. After a few days of the 'Coastal Spain' experience of eateries that consisted of a conveyor belt experience with no enjoyment for what they do, I felt like a literal taste of something different. No offense to the Spanish food outlets, but they appear to start with staff doing their best to usher you into their premises with much gusto. Once you’re ‘signed up’ to a meal, you see the true side to them and that appears to be one of resentment and an urge to get you out in readiness for the next walking wallet. I personally don’t blame them for this attitude, it is predominately a tourist destination for a wide spectrum of clientele, and not all can necessarily be good.
Our experience with Casa Alberto was entirely different — the polar opposite, in fact. No staff employed to encourage pedestrians to enter, genuine owner/operators of a wonderful establishment that were spending time on the customers they had, rather than hunting down the next ones.
I should of course speak about the dining experience, while the location might not appear prime, the ambience more than compensates for it. The food is well portioned, delicious and delivered to the table hot and within good time considering the quality. The owner/operators are so friendly, it’s no surprise that the reviews on here are gushing with praise.
I’ve never been to a restaurant that made me feel genuinely lucky to have found and experienced it. Visiting you both has inspired me to visit Italy for my next holiday, though I hope to return to Casa Alberto to practice my Italian…once I’ve started to learn it. All the best to both of you, and thank you for allowing me to experience your culture and traditions.
P.S. Sorry, world for not including photos, I was selfishly occupied...
Read moreSuch an amazing restaurant. Seriously the best place that my boyfriend and I went to during our trip to Benalmadena. We went for his birthday last night and got the smoked salmon salad, the seafood pasta, and romana pizza and it was absolutely the best food I’ve ever had in my life. The ingredients are so fresh and have immense flavour. The dough of the pizza is so tasty from the classic brick oven. It is fluffy, and has a nice bite to it, and the cheese, oh my god the cheese both the mozzarella and burrata were to DIE FOR! So amazing. I have honestly never been blown away by food before until I tried this place. We came back on our last day in Benalmadena for the heavenly pizza again. If you are visiting and in the area, this is a must try restaurant! We love you Casa Alberto, thank you for your kindness and your beautiful...
Read moreWe had a lovely dinner here, enjoying two very different but complementary dishes. The pizza with spicy salami, black olives, and fresh basil had a perfect soft, airy crust and just the right balance of flavors—rich tomato, creamy mozzarella, and a pleasant kick from the salami.
The octopus salad was fresh and beautifully presented, with tender pieces of octopus paired with crisp lettuce, peppers, cucumber, and a touch of chives on top. The side of creamy sauce and lemon added a refreshing finish.
Everything was nicely accompanied by a chilled glass of white wine, making it a perfect summer evening meal. Service was attentive, and the relaxed outdoor setting made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
Highly recommended for a mix of authentic flavors and a...
