Don Marisquito — Restaurant in Benalmádena

Spanish restaurant with a twist. On the entering I was supsisious. Of course the place looked modern, bright and clean but it could have been another tourist's trap. Sipping on a gold pint by the open glass wall ,starring in the sun, I was completely taken by surprise and kind of shocked when I received my starter, which was Tuna Tataki - imaginative and vivid presentation with fresh and delicious content.

It only got better with arrival of the main course. Wild cod with baby potatoes and aldente veggies. I know...doesn't sound sophisticated but it doesn't have to. That's not the purpose of the meal to sound lyrical in my opinion. The art comes from the food itself. The art for visual and chemosensory system. The Andalusian-like colours of eatable flowers and vegetables on a white canvas of the plate. The datail of a charcoal salt flakes and a touch of basil sauce on the top of a crispy skin of a soft and moist fish. All makes the difference.

Those played well here to my satisfaction. It was only an afternoon when I left the place satisfied...

If I could give less stars I would. We walked by this place and we were stopped by a girl working there out on the street, she asked us to try there and I said I’m a vegetarian so I don’t think it would suit me. She then took her phone out and showed me a vegetarian menu on her phone but said they didn’t have it “printed out yet” - the menu had a vegetarian beyond burger on it which I then said ok I’ll it a go the food came and I asked that it was definitely veggie and they said yes - the burger to me (a vegetarian of 10+ years) didn’t taste like it was beyond meat.. now I can’t say that it was or wasn’t but then I get to the end of my fries to find a piece of calamari????? An octopus tentacle???? WHEN I VERY CLEARLY STATED I WAS VEGGIE. Worst meal ever for me, I was so turned off by the end I felt sick! And then when I brought the calamari to the waiters attention they gave us 2 euros off… again, the worst meal ever. My friend also has the breast of chicken that was beyond...

Hello, I did not plan on commenting, but as I see you are of VERY BAD faith. And deny all accusations of bad comments. As I checked your comments : MULTIPLE « computer error » either change the computer or the staff using it. As the plates to do not add themselves to the check unless you « misclick ». Secondly, saying you got falsely accused for cockroach, is kinda hilarious. The way your staff treated the cockroach really shows us this is an all time thing. And it usually happens. But I guess you would rather deny all accusations. Wich does not affect me at all. As each denial will cost you another bad comment. If you change the servers to get more smiling ones, I would also change the guy/woman, answering the comments to have a more appropriate and...
