Lola Resto Bar — Restaurant in Benalmádena

Having been to this restaurant numerous times we decided to take friends for a nice meal. To say we had the most obnoxious waiter in the world would be an understatement! We ordered our drinks and the other couple ordered a starter to share and we ordered our mains to follow. Firstly one of us wanted the lamb chops but with any other potato but not chips. The waiter was very aggressive and said they only did chips. This was funny as the sea bass i ordered is served with sweet potato? Anyway we let that slide but then the waiter brought up the starter and begun bringing out all our mains at the same time as the starter! When our friend, who speaks Spanish, told the waiter that this was unacceptable and we didn't want everything with the starter he begun arguing with us that this is normal to bring out the mains with the starter. This has never been our experience before. After we made them return the mains he snatched the plates away in a huff. As soon as the starter was finished the waiter tried to bring the, by now either cold or nuked, mains back out. We told the waiter that we were cancelling the order & were only paying for the drinks & starter that we had. The waiter then proceeded to tell us that the food had all been cooked and that we were paying for it no matter what & he would call the police all the while slapping his cheek & telling us we had a cheek. We told him to go ahead but then another waiter came over & gave us the bill for just what we'd had. Weve eaten in here numerous times over the past year and always enjoyed the food and ambience however last night was the worse experience i have ever had in a restaurant. The evening started when we arrived 30mins early and the waiter, whose name i believe is Raul, made a sarcastic comment about arriving early. We ordered drinks 1 x starter, 4 x main courses and a side of vegetables. The starter arrived along with the side of vegetables. We told the waiter that the vegetables are not a starter they are a side and we want them with our main course. He argued with us and was very aggressive telling us that he has worked in restaurants for 14 years and they always bring up the starter and main course together. We asked him to take the mains back until we had finished the starter, we dont want our main course along with the starter. The minute the starter was finished he brought out the mains, which had been kept warm and were not fresh. We were made to feel very uncomfortable by his aggressive and argumentative attitude so we asked him to bring our bill for what we had had and to cancel our warmed up mains. He became even more aggressive and abusive pulling his cheek and saying to our friend who is fluent in Spanish you are very cheeky and whether you like it or not you are paying for everything. Beautiful place with nice views of the sea! Food is amazing and very affordable. The service is fast, attentative and very friendly! Their English is great and nothing is too much trouble! Very clean too! You have the option of dining inside with air conditioning or outside in the beautiful garden where they have big fans blowing air. Would highly recommend it over the restaurants located on the sea front which are over priced and you are rushed and the staff are unable to put a smile on their faces. There are plenty of options on the menu for you to eat there for a week and still have something different. The burger, the shredded beef, the pork and the burrata salads are to die for! The kids chicken strips are delicious too! They have a great 3 course lunch menu for a very good price. You should definately eat there if...
