The Corner Bar — Restaurant in Benidorm

Arrived around 14.05 and there was a queue, which is generally a good sighn. There were empty tables but not enough chairs. Waited for a member of staff to approach us but they just constantly ignored ourselves and others waiting. I eventually went to the bar to get or drinks while we waited as the staff clearly had no intention of acknowledging us. I waited at the bar for a good five minutes constantly being ignored. Yes they were busy but at least an acknowledgement would have been polite. I had to but in to order our drinks and told to wait outside if I wanted to for a table with chairs to become available. We were eventually called over at 14.35 by a table who were ready to leave. We waited and waited for approximately 15 minutes and still no acknowledgment. We had to ask another table for the menu. Another 15 and numerous “excuse me can we order” and constantly told in two minutes. Eventually tied a member of staff down to take the order. Starter came, with roll and butter but no knife. Couldn’t get staff attention so gave in. Main came approximately 15 minutes after finishing starter and fine. Must have waited 20 minutes after finishing and numerous “excuse me can I order desert”. Desert eventually came and fine. During lunch we looked around and people who were seated before us were still waiting for staff to acknowledge them to order. Eventually got out at 16.25 after eventually having to go to the bar and hanging over payment as nobody would acknowledge us for the bill. We weren’t the only people waiting and constantly being ignored. Clearly if they can’t cope with the amount of customers then less tables or more staff. An apology or excuse would have been so much more polite than just constantly ignoring us and many others. Definitely...

Have been to Benidorm numerous times and always made a point of going to the Corner Bar for most meals due to the standard of food and the prices. Regrettably today was a drastic change from the usual helpful staff. My wife underwent gastric surgery a few months ago and at present is only eating small meals. As this is all her stomach can manage. We spoke to the waitress on arriving and asked if due to the medical implications my wife could order a child’s meal, this is backed up by a signed request from the surgeon who carried out the operation, The waitress refused the kids meal and then also refused an OAP meal stating that the MANAGEMENT did not allow or condone this path of action. Absolutely appalled that this was refused even though it was for Medical purposes. Waitress couldn’t be bothered and just walked off when we said we would look elsewhere. No attempt to speak to someone in charge to see if we could make an exception in this case taking into account the medical implications. Sorry you have lost hundreds that we used to spend in there over the number of times we went there. Funnily enough when we explained it to other various restaurants and food outlets they were more than happy to oblige. We even showed them the Doctors letter to back up the situation. Obviously profit before customers. Shame really I used to enjoy going there to eat, but...

I haven't been here for a few years as I didn't like the snotty eggs on the English breakfast. The staff were incredibly rude. This was in 2019.

I thought I'd give it another try Feb 2025. Well the Staff were worse. So rude and not interested.

Also, let's be frank it's a glorified Cafe, no sea view, next door to a Lidl and parking isn't easy despite direct outside parking. Not often will you get a space. So what on earth makes them think they can charge 12€ for a large English breakfast!!!!! I know the cost of food has gone up but not to that extent. You can get a large one round the corner at about 20-30 other bars for half the price.

I'm shocked they haven't sorted the customer service out 6 years later. Wanted to pay by card, told her can I have the bill and I'll pay by card. She didn't listen and brought the bill. I said can I pay by card, she shouted at me "if you pay by card, you'll have to go up the bar" I'm sat 2 tables from the bar. Turns out they could have bought the machine to the table but they didn't want to. Maybe they will blame wifi, I understand, maybe out on the terrace, but not 2 tables from the bar. No hello, no thanks, no smiles.
