A few highs and several lows in our experience. First, the good parts. The arugula salad with warm mushrooms was quite good—my wife really liked it. The calzone with bonito (tuna) tasted good, though parts of the crust were not evenly cooked (on the raw side). The tarta de yogur (instead of queso) was good as well. At the end of the dinner, we were offered a complimentary liqueur—patxaran, flavored with sloe fruits from the blackthorn plant.

The lows: the tiramisu was on the dry side, and appeared to have been made several days ago. When we arrived, we were placed at a table by the bathrooms, when there were tables upfront and at least one of these tables for two people ended up not being occupied for the next hour and a half. The staff seemed to be overwhelmed, both the two waiters as well as the kitchen staff. From the moment we were seated until the point when we were able to catch someone’s attention, 20 minutes elapsed. 25 minutes later only one of the dishes was served. Apparently the salad had fallen through the cracks, and it took another 20 minutes to make it. By then, I was done with my calzone, so my wife and I got to see the other one eat. In short, from seating at the table until the point my wife got her salad, 65 minutes elapsed. I hope this mismatch of waiting and kitchen staff to the number of customers was an exceptional event.

When rush hour passed (we ended up spending two hours inside the restaurant until we got all our food and dinner was over), our waiter apologized and was nice, but by that time it was too...

——- Authentic Italian restaurant served by its kind owner, who made a few recommendations from the many, besides offering us focaccia and shots of limoncello courtesy of the house. We were 4 people so for starters we ordered Garlic bread with olive oil and Provolone with tomato, as for the pizzas, we had Tonno Allegro and, by suggestion of the owner, Margherita with zucchini, bacon and funghi porcini. Everything was delicious. The only downer is that we were so full at the end, that we couldn’t order desserts. But we’re definitely coming back to try them.
