Udon Bilbao Gran Vía — Restaurant in Bilbao

My husband ordered a ramen which was edible though the broth didn't taste like more than soy sauce.

My experience was a lot worse. I ordered soba noodles that came with the saltiest and weirdest tasting sauce that I could not even eat them. The taste was awful. The noodles were overcooked and it felt like a pasta interpretation of an Asian dish that just really didn't work. I had to go elsewhere to have a meal.

I should say that I was going with the expectation that it would be an interpretation and not taste authentic - this, I don't mind. But my dish was simply inedible.

The server never came to ask how our food was. At the check out I did inform him of the fact and he apologized but not more than that.

The vibe of the place is cool... So...

Disappointment from start to finish. To begin, the server seated us without saying a word and our food arrived well over a half hour after we placed our order. Our order this time around was decent, so we decided to order takeout. The server was impossible to find and eventually we left the table and walked to the front of the restaurant to order the takeout and settle the check. The server was sullen the entire time and the atmosphere was extraordinarily uninviting. The worst, however, was the takeout which was truly inedible. The curry had absolutely no flavor, the noodles were over cooked to mush, and the beef was almost entirely fat. All in all, this restaurant was expensive with zero redeeming qualities. Better to skip a meal than...

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience here. I ordered the Chicken Yakisoba, and it really tasted bad - sweet and insipid, I honestly could not eat it. When I asked if I could change it, the waiter asked his boss, and the boss apparently said that because I had tasted it, that I would be charged regardless.

I really wanted to like this place, and the soup my girlfriend had was decent, but the fact that they charged me full price (11.45 euros) for something I ate two bites of and left on the table says they really don't care about the quality of their product, or customer satisfaction.

I went down the street to Face Wok and ate noodles and chicken for 6 euros, much tastier. Disappointed in Udon...
