Nestled in the historic heart of Burgos, Vermuteria Victoria offers a delightful introduction to the world of vermouth, especially for those unfamiliar with this aromatic fortified wine. A vermuteria is a bar dedicated primarily to vermouth, traditionally enjoyed as an aperitif, and at Vermuteria Victoria, they take this tradition to new heights by serving it directly from the tap, ensuring freshness and the perfect serving temperature.
My visit to this charming spot was highlighted by the chance to taste vermouth in its most authentic form. The on-tap serving method enhances the herbal, slightly bitter, and sweet profile of the vermouth, making it a must-try experience for beverage enthusiasts. To complement the drink, I opted for a small plate of pulpo tapas, which was expertly prepared—tender and flavorful, pairing beautifully with the crisp, complex notes of the vermouth.
The venue itself is cozy, with tasteful indoor seating that invites leisurely sipping and socializing. Additionally, Vermuteria Victoria shares a quaint alley and outdoor space with a neighboring brewery, creating a vibrant atmosphere where patrons can enjoy the best of both worlds—exquisite vermouth and craft beer side by side.
For anyone visiting Burgos, a stop at Vermuteria Victoria is highly recommended. It's not only a place to enjoy excellent vermouth and tapas but also a way to immerse yourself in a key aspect of Spanish culinary culture. The friendly staff and inviting setting make it a perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring the city, and the quality of both drinks and food ensures a memorable experience. Whether you're a vermouth aficionado or a curious traveler, Vermuteria Victoria is a gem worth...
Read moreWe stumbled into this bar and noticed it is one of the top ten Tapas bars in Burgos (from a sticker on the door) , we were not disappointed and it’s my favourite place so far in Burgos for Tapas, we tried a few this is the best, chilled music and a lively bar it’s perfect, just had 3 very tasty tapas the size of a meal and a pint (or equivalent) of Mahou beer (3 Euro) for a total of 10 Euros that’s cheap for the quality of Tapas and service, coming back later. The staff were very professional and helpful. We went back On Friday night and at 10pm the whole bar, which was completely full inside and in the street, erupted in song a local told us it happens every night and it’s the National anthem of Burgas, was a very interesting experience as the singers were certainly giving it maximum effort, there was a slide show on the wall opposite the bar, a great...

I had a cana with some locals who invited me to drink with them beside the main door of the bar. After 5 hours walking from San Juan de Ortega that it was a welcome experience. The following day , i realized that i left my walking sticks on the ground beside the high table outside the door and went back to the bar and thankfully a waiter had put them behind the bar and gave them back to me . ( Many Thanks Carlos) . I then had a tortilla con Morcilla de Burgos, Victoria cana and a Vermú too.
