Very tasty puff pastry pies, and despite the amazing location, being right in front of the Mezquita, the quality and the taste of the pies themselves doesn’t suffer at all. I got Manolas for take out the night before 4 nights in a row, and would have them the following day - they maintained their crunch and the dough was perfectly flaky and super nice. Really great breakfast, even after they spend a night in your fridge - either re-heated, or just left at room temp to warm up on the outside, with the filling still slightly cold. I tried the chicken kebab filling, the rabo de toro, and the croquetas de jamón filling. I especially recommend the chicken one. I had 3 this morning on my trip out of Córdoba, and truth be told I’m going to miss them. Delicious pastry. Gorgeous location, if unlike me, you’re going to get them warmed and eat them right outside, and not on the next day. The Mezquita is truly beautiful once the sun almost sets, and the bronze doors start glowing...
Read moreA Disturbing Experience at Manolas-Empanadas Cordobesas. Today i visited the food store and purchased a veggie empanada and a sweet one with apple. Unfortunately, my excitement turned to dismay when I discovered white mold on the apple after taking the first bite. Shocked and concerned, I inspected it again, confirming my initial suspicion. I promptly informed the woman working there, showing her the affected apple. She took it from my hand and replaced it with another, which I understandably chose not to eat. Now, I can’t help but worry about potential food poisoning symptoms in the coming hours. This incident raises serious concerns about the store’s hygiene practices. I’ve also come across older reviews mentioning food poisoning and even foreign objects, glass, found in their food. The safety of the public is at risk, and I hope the management takes immediate action to address...
Read moreI didn't expect the puff pastry and flake on these empanadas, but was in for quite a delicious surprise! We had just finished visiting the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat. This place was located right outside and we feel so lucky to have found it!
They were the perfect bite to take and enjoy in the cathedral's orange tree courtyard right across the street. The empanadas are heavenly! Once we started eating them, we knew we needed to go back for more (which we did). We tasted many of them, all wonderful. My personal favorites were the chorizo for the savory option and the apple for sweet.
Don't miss...
