Avoid LA PORTEÑA , Parrilla Argentina at all costs. Horrendous place, horrendous service. Very anti english establishment. Got my daughters order totally wrong and then blamed us. The meat was pure gristle, poor service all round. Avoid, avoid avoid.

My daughter ordered a veal burger but was given a version of the chicken escalope. Me and the wife ordered a sharing platter, which was mainly made up of what appears to have been offal and other off custs of gristly meat. The waiter's and waitresses couldn't seem to care any less if they tried. We were eating our gristle whilst we waited about 45 minutes for them to correct my daughter's burger meal. She was understandably upset. The kids' veal burger when it eventually came was actually nice, tbf. I wish i had gone for that 😕. No one came to check on our meals to see if we were happy, apologise, see if we needed any condiments, drinks, or anything throughout the time we were there. I went to the toilet whilst we waited an age for the bill and approached what I assumed was the owner to see if he was open to any feedback from my visits. He pointed to what looked like an 20yr old lad and said it was him that was the owner. A guy who 30 mins early blindly slammed my 2nd beer on the table, no ownership or service skills whatsoever whilst we waited for the error to be corrected for my 9 yr old daughter. I asked if they were open to feedback on my experience this evening. He said yes yet clearly lied. He very clearly wasn't. Extremely defensive and blammed us. How a veal buger and a chicken escolope that wasn't even on the menu could get lost in translation is beyone me. The young lad began to raise his voice. I said my feedback is landing on deaf ears. Good look to you and your establishment. I'm leaving, and if you treat your customers like this, you will be out of business very quickly. As we were leaving others, dining also began to voice their frustrations, poor quality meat, excessive wait times of over an hour, etc. As we did leave the premises, an older chap I originally thought was the owner came into my face and started shouting stuff in spanish. It was probably a good job i didn't understand what he was saying...

I don't post many reviews, but I really want to share this with you. Yesterday we went to La Porteña for a dinner. Nice garden, soothing music and nice atmosphere. When we arrived at 9 pm, 3 or 4 tables were taken. The waiter came to us and told us very friendly that unfortunately he was all alone that night (apart from the cook) and that it would take a while before he would be able to serve us. We didn't mind; we had all the time in the world so we took a seat. For 15 to 20 minutes we watched this young guy fly all over the terrace, trying to serve everyone as fast as possible. He didn't have time to catch a breath, and kept being friendly to everyone. Even when he was getting yelled at by a lady because her dish took a little longer, even though he told her beforehand and apologised loads of times. In the meantime, more people came up to the terrace and he told them what he told us; he was working as fast as he could but service would take a while. It just hurt me to see he just had to watch people leave, as I imagine they can really use the clientelle in these times. It took a little while, but when we got our food, it was magnifficent. We even got a dessert on the house because we had to wait a little. We didn't find this neccesarry, but it was a nice gesture. I promised myself I would leave them the review they deserve. We have just landed this afternoon in this resort. Tired from a long day of travelling we headed straight out from the hotel to get our children food. Being a family with 2 diabetics food is somewhat of a priority. We came across this restaurant first and asked for a table for 6. We were told that we needed a reservation to eat here so a table was not possible. The restaurant was empty other than two other families. Not the best first impression of a new to us resort's hospitality. Thankfully we found a beautiful restaurant a few minutes walk away with delicious food, a good atmosphere and attentive staff.
