Le Gourmand — Restaurant in Calvià

Absolutely awful experience. Took my 6 year old daughter in here and asked the owner, Vitaly, if she could please use the bathroom. He flatly refused even though he could see she was desperate. I then asked to buy a coke and water so that she could use the toilet. She ran through to the bathroom and then whilst Vitaly was getting the drinks she called for me to help her. I went through to the bathroom and Vitaly followed me in with the card machine. He stood in the toilet with myself and my daughter whilst I was trying to wipe her and blocking my exit route. He kept asking for payment despite seeing my daughter was on the toilet and us both getting upset at the confrontation. He wouldn’t let us close the door. He proceeded to keep shouting at us which alerted his wife. She came through and did eventually get him to leave the bathroom. I then was able to clean my daughter up and return to pay him. He kept shoving the card machine in my face and shouting at me. I said I would happily pay. This man was rude, abrasive, aggressive and lacked empathy. He really shook my 6 year old up and myself as he blocked us from leaving the restaurant, even when I advised him I would call the police. I would absolutely avoid this place if you have any sense. Clearly not a very nice man at all. I am not sure why he thinks it’s ok to threaten a women and child and watch a 6 year old girl go to the toilet and refuse to leave the bathroom when asked over and over. AVOID AT...

The owner of this establishment is a disgusting, aggressive creep. My 6 year old daughter desperately needed the toilet and my partner took her here as a last resort. The owner immediately became very aggressive saying it was not a public toilet and was not free. That is absolutely fine, she offered to buy a drink so that my young daughter could use the toilet. The owner was incredibly aggressive and followed my 6 year old into the toilet and was watching her use it. He refused to leave and was extremely threatening and wouldn't let my partner wipe my daughter. This sick creep stood over a young girl and watched her use the toilet and frightened her with his screaming and unhinged behaviour. He would not get out of my partners face insisting on payment and shoving a card machine in her face when she stated numerous times she was happy to pay. The owners wife tried dragging him away as at least she had some semblance on decency. What a disgusting creep of a man threatening and frightening a young girl desperate to use the toilet and standing over watching her use it. What a sick demented individual. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from an individual devoid of any human decency, all so he could sell a drink and watch a 6 year old use the toilet....

A lovely find in Santa Ponça!

After trying many places in the area, we noticed that not many places were offering tapas. It was mainly pasta, pizza, burgers, etc.

My friend found Le Gourmand on TripAdvisor, and we decided to walk over on the off chance they'd have a table for 2, which fortunately they did.

The restaurant was being run by a team of two, who were both lovely. The male team member was very courteous, polite, and welcoming. They even brought out blankets for the diners as the temperature started to dip in the evening.

We chose five different small plates, and that was more than enough!

I highly recommend the goat's cheese and honey bread, along with the hummus, burrata salad, and tomato bread. We ordered the patatas bravas, but they weren't what we had expected. We had aimed to have a dessert, but after all that, there was no chance!

The restaurant itself is lovely, modern yet traditional, and welcoming, overlooking the street.
