We visited Bocoi four times ( three evening meals and one morning for coffees) on our week in Mallorca. This little gem sits opposite a beautiful sea view and has the most relaxing atmosphere. Each evening we were greeted by welcoming staff who were very attentive especially with our two young children. We started the meals with bread, olives and aioli. Ideal for keeping little ones quiet! We also had the seasonal vegetable starter which was fennel with citrusy flavours and a creamy dressing. Really fresh and summery! We sampled different main courses each evening ranging from a delicious paella with cod and chicken! Cod gratin served with potatoes and sobrasada (first time trying this and it was something we’d definitely try again, vegetable pasta, Iberian pork with pepper and fries. The pork was so tender! Our children had the cod and chips, tomato pasta and chicken strips. All seemed to go down a storm! We had white wine by the glass which was so reasonably priced as were the soft drinks for the children. Each evening we also received a little appetiser which was a really nice touch in trying new things. I’m sure all the desserts are delicious but we can only comment on the ice creams which the children really enjoyed. One particular server a young gentleman from Argentina that we’d got chatting to most evening was excellent. He was brilliant with our children and made us feel so welcome each time we visited. The restaurant took into consideration that the children would probably want food first so their meals were brought to the table so we could sort them out and then it meant we got to enjoy our meals in peace when we were ready. Would definitely recommend that you visit this establishment for the excellent food, service and hospitality experience! Mucho gracias from one happy little...
Read moreOur final night in Majorca started off really well with some of the best White Sangria i've ever tasted. It all went downhill, very quickly from there.
We had a sharing starter (of which was over-cooked and barely any meat), and whilst the female staff was clearing plates, she spilt leftover food on me twice, and failed to acknowledge or apologise as she watched me pick it off myself and back onto the plate in her hand. There was no acknowledgement of any wrongdoing, and failed to apologise or anything- which went on to ruin my night. I had to get out of there, i was upset, my dress ruined and there was no respect to me or my friends.
My partner spoke to the women on the door (and manager?) who said she would speak to that member of staff. The lady came back over, I appreciate she didnt speak english very well, but saying sorry and laughing in my face isnt the sincere apology i would have hoped for. in fact, it added fuel to the fire - its the worst customer experience i've ever had. I was then ignored by her and the manager / lady on the door for the rest of the evening.
As we 'paid' - the gentleman asked how our experience was, and i explained how i was feeling. As we left, at least 4 members of staff then were in the window laughing at us, which we then called out as disrespectful and shameful.
I should have demanded a refund there and then as this is not how you treat restaurant guests at all.
Thank you for ruining not only my night, but also my dress from the food your staff carelessly dropped all over me, without any apology of respect to...
Read moreThe best restaurant in Portocolom! This 3 year old (it's now july 2025) is the place you must not miss when visiting this quaint town on the east coast of Mallorca. You will notice the huge sculptured vase in the entrance, which is also depicted on the menu. We love this piece by Lin Utzon a Danish textile and ceramics designer, and daughter to Jørn Utzon the Danish architect maybe best know for his design of the Sydney Opera House in Australia. Now to the food. Amazing local ingredients were transformed into beautiful dishes every time we visited Bocoi. Especially memorable; the barbequed mussels (a special starter one night, so not on the menu), and the toasted garlic whole sea bass (which was an option to the salt crusted sea bass on the menu). Other standouts: Cantabrian anchovies with crystal bread and crushed tomatoes accompanied by piquillo peppers and the fried eggs over fried artichokes with parmesan and a touch of truffle on the starter menu. We wished we hade more dinners in Portocolom so we could have tried their rice dishes, but they looked beautiful. We also had the Turbot fillet in cava sauce with baked potato. Don't be shy to ask Maria, the wonderful manager, about the wines she recommends. Some absolutely wonderful Mallorcan and other Spanish varieties, and some off the list exceptional options. To finish the feast we had the Pacharan, the anis flavored digestif, reminiscent of...
