Changing my 5 star review because of how we have been treated here the last few times we have turned up we have been turned away from the restaurant only to see them let other people in after us who have not booked they pick and choose who they want on busy days not who comes first. I am a Spanish resident I have been coming to this restaurant with my family for 30 or so years. We have had a lot of really great meals here and nice family gatherings. There used to be an older guy called Alfredo who greeted you at the door he knew my family and would always find a way to sit us down but the new man at the door I do not know his name does not know who are long time regulars and doesn’t even try to sit you just turns you away. We turned up at 12 midday and was sent away and when we asked will there be any space at all allday we was just rudely dismissed. we think it was because we had young kids. Anyway it has put me and my family off ever going again we will find somewhere that treats us like the long term loyal customers we...
Read moreI have been going to botavara since I was born 19 years ago and my parents and grandparents have been going for over 35 years. The food is very nice and so are the restaurant staff. However Suli on the beach is rude, disrespectful and disgusting. We reserved 3 bed chairs for the weekend at the front and he said he would keep them but he didn’t and went on to say that we wanted the back when for the last 5 days we have been sitting at the front. Do something about your staff before you loose regular customers! His behaviour was awful. I would like to thank the blonde waitress who has worked there for years who both apologised and tried to rectify the situation although unsuccessfully due to Suli’s actions and crude behaviour. Furthermore my mother has hurt her leg and is in a splint which he was aware of and treated us poorly despite her health. We may be English but we are residents here and of Spanish descent and don’t appreciate being treated badly by a...
Read moreLocation is good, that´s about all I can say that was good. Except that the wind from the grill was blowing across the terrace, so I had to go home to shower and change my clothes. Yeah, my fault for sitting there. Otherwise, it is a very below average spanish chiringuito. Sometimes little things count, too. Husband ordered scrambled eggs with asparagus and shrimp - there was maybe one egg in the dish, 3 medium shrimp and the asparagus was the cheapest stalky kind, probably imported from China(canned or glassed). I ordered a sardine espeto, which you usually can´t go wrong with, but they were small. I like veggies, but I didn´t see any veggie dish on the menu, so I ordered the grilled red pepper from the starter menu - for 8(!) euros, this turned out to be a plate of red pimientos, fresh out of a can/or glass. We considered this meal a...
