Wow!!! If I could give this place 6 stars I would. The duck confit with mushroom sauce my waiter recommended was probably the best I've ever had, I savoured every juicy bite! I found their menu very reasonably priced, especially the "combo" meals, where you get wine, an entree, and dessert. The staff were super kind and patient to translate the Spanish menu for me, and even explained local cuisine and recommended me their favorites. My chocolate cake was delicious, but far too dense and creamy for me to finish after my huge entree. Additionally, the views on the terrace is absolutely breathtaking, you're submersed in the middle of winding staircase/alley as people pass by. They do charge a few Euros to sit on the terrace, so ask to sit inside if you prefer a quieter, more intimate setting.

Awful experience compared to previous expectations. We went to the restaurant based on a recommendation. Although they haven’t recorded our booking we were lucky enough to get a free spot (13:45h). The place is not nice or bad, it doesn’t have any atmosphere. Staff is not nice or bad, they are not service oriented based on my own experience. We got a 25€ menu which included first and second plate, drink and dessert. Nothing special on the food, just average. Not well presented, not super tasty. House wine limited to one single region, not my taste either (Costers del Segre). Since they were sooo slow we didn’t have desserts. We waited for 25min for the desserts and they never came, so we decided to stand and leave after paying the check and telling them about our experience (no answer or complicity at all). Extra note: there are only 2 toilets for the entire restaurant, and at that time they were already super dirty and smelly. All in all, not a place I would recommend to anyone.

The service is great, but the food is literally 50/50. We ate a €25 menu and my onion tart and duck confit were great, but my husband got super salty vegetarian canalons and they Broth him salmon instead of tuna. They were out but didn't tell us until we got the food, and if course we felt bad about wasting it. It came with white rice, unseasoned peas and carrots, nothing special. I ordered chocolate cake for dessert and it was very dry, I left it. They never asked us what we thought about our food, and it seems like they are more of a tourist place than a local restaurant. We won't go back. There are plenty of other places in the same area where we can eat better.

Amazing food, and great view whether you get to sit inside at the windows or outside beside the funky steps (+10% charge though if you sit outside). Great for GoT fans wanting to flawlessly recreate Arya's waif chase scene (as below). Service was fabulous and the nice waitress explained the menu to us (as us norn iron folk couldn't read a word of the Catalan menu). Great selection of food, and the portions are just right. 10/10 would Cafe le Bistrot again. Also the only restaurant in the immediate area that wasn't booked up and we could just walk into and eat in.

Definetley one of the best restaurants in Gerona. This classical Catalan restaurant has an amazing outdoor terras (which you can't reservate). However the interior is cosy as well. The food is amazing and very affordable. Their specialities range from a Catalan toast pizza with all sorts of toppings to amazing meat and pasta dishes. The portions are of a good size and the variety of pastries is great. The service is decent as well, and the servants speak good English and while the menu is in Catalan they are willing to translate everything for you (multiple times).

We had lunch at this place and were pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere is very cozy, and although the outside terrace, which is usually picturesque, wasn't available at that time, we were comfortably seated inside. Opting for the daily menu turned out to be an excellent choice. The dishes were exceptional: the pumpkin soup was velvety and delicious, and the grilled meat was simply amazing. For dessert, I ordered cheese with honey, and to my delight, it tasted exactly like the Russian "творог с медом." Overall, it was a great experience!
