The sauces of the meat (Korma and Tikka masala) were very diluted, and don’t taste like any Indian we have ever tried, at all.
The raita (yoghurt sauce) came with the vinegar separated from the yogurt and the rest of the ingredients thrown on it. Nothing like it should be.
The tikka masala deserves a separate mention on its own. The sauce was full of sugar. So sweet that we needed water after just deeping the tip of our bread to it. We asked very kindly to the waitress to change it cause we couldn’t eat it and the reason why and she explained very kindly that the same complaints had been done from more customers and that the owners and cooker was Bangladesh and not Indians and that there were differences in the plates.
After that she explained to the kitchen what happened and She asked if she could change our plate. The chef and the owner started to shout that “we don’t know” and that “this is how it is done in the whole world” alongside other things that I won’t mention.
For the record, in the end we asked that they don’t change it, that they even charge the plate that we returned due to the awful attitude they had. We left without finishing nothing from what we had ordered.
I can tolerate bad food but I can’t tolerate such behavior from anyone, even more from people that are supposed to offer a service/good.

Read moreYesterday I visited the Taj Indian restaurant. Staff was very nice and the starters were great! But the reason i went there was one in specific: The Chili Masala. Said to be the spiciest food you can get in town.
To my surprise, the taste which had greeted my pallet was far from the burning hell i had envisioned, the aromatic spices made for an experience more akin to what ought to be the warm hug of a proud fatherly figure I've always dreamed about. However, half way done with the plate, the coziness of the tender lamb, mixed with the rice pilaf I ordered on the side, soon took the shape of a far more familiar kick to the nuts, for the heat that welcomed me at first was now refusing to leave, welcoming instead the new degrees of burn that arrived with each new bite. It's safe to say from the expressions on neighbouring costumers that by the end of the meal I could have cosplayed the red on a traffic light. But was it worth it? Absolutely!
Nonetheless, If i'm ever made to cry this much by a plate of food again, it better make me forget...

But yes DO think this because it’s a fact. We had great service and excellent food.
Started with Samosas with four amazing sauces. Also who could resist the garlic nann - we couldn’t!
Husband had the vegetable Biryani with always his different request, masala sauce. Yes this is how he orders it all over the world! They had no problem with the request.
I had the Channa Masala, also a mushroom dish and basmati rice. All cooked to perfection with just the right amount of kick.
We sat out on the walkway. Nice seating and fun to watch the world go by. There is also dining tables inside. It was pretty busy on this Monday night October 28.
Prices were great. Biryani was 10,95€. Each of my dishes were 4,95€. Side of rice was 2,95€ and two samosas for 4,20€. Garlic nann I believe was 2,95€.
So much food that we took exactly half home for lunch the next day.
Give it a try. You will really enjoy the freshness of each dish and the...
