We booked for six, but the table was only prepared for four, and we had a lot of trouble with the table when we arrived . They managed to find us another table, unfortunately not with a very good view, even though there were others available.
After this I left a review stating such since they were initially not apologetic and made it seem like we were to blame.
After leaving the review, while we were still at the table, the manager came out and asked who had left the review and made us feel very uncomfortable, pressuring us into changing the review. Please, never do this in the future - by all means be apologetic and polite, but the manager coming up to us and asking who had left a review and why was extremely uncomfortable and made what was already a weird experience a much worse one.
They did offer us free dessert, but over all it felt like a very uncomfortable dining experience and not a laid back one like we found in other...
Read moreI went to this place because it belongs to the hotel I stayed at (hotel is very nice, and I recommend it). I wanted to have a quick dinner, so I ordered the “fries, eggs and sobrasada”. Sobrasada is a kind of sausage, so I was expecting at least some slices of that, since the dish cost 18€. However what I received was slices of baked (not fried) potatoes, with 2 overcooked eggs on top, and some microscopic traces of something red-brown, in a very small quantity. When I asked the waiter where the sobrasada was, she pointed to the microscopic red-brown pieces, like it was the most obvious thing. So basically I paid 18€ for some bland potatoes and two overcooked eggs. Not acceptable. Kind of sad, since the location is really nice, and they could do much better. Just to mention - it was the only bad gastronomic experience I had in all Andaluzia, where the food is otherwise delicious...
Read moreWe just ate at Restaurante Alarique tonight. What a wonderful restaurant! We feel unbelievably lucky that we happened to find it! Amongst other things, we had the cold soup which was superb and so tomato/pepper flavourful, and the codfish which came with barley and tiny slices of crunchy asparagus with dried tuna shavings on top. Sooo good. The chocolate dessert was excellent quality chocolate ice cream, with chocolate cake and moist chocolate biscuit with white ganache poured on top. Divine. Wine was a red Luzon, excellent. The experience was made very special by the wonderful waitress Monica - so personable, helpful, and proud of the food specialities of Andalucia. Thank you Monica - we'll be back as...
