Me and my wife came to the restaurant for our anniversary dinner. We both got the 9 course tasting menu and got the 9 wine pairing option. The food is mediocre at best and leaves a lot to be desired. The wine pairing is nothing great and not worth the addition. The food lacks flavor and salt. The restaurant has amazing views and a great service.
Unfortunately an incident occurred that made me give the service 2 stars. When I got my 6th course (partridge) I bit into something hard. I assumed it was part of the meal. When I took the piece out of my mouth I realized it looked to be a piece of metal or steel. I brought the piece to the manager’s attention. Her response was oh yeah I know it’s a piece of the bullet that was used to shoot the partridge and this was the residue because it was not cleaned well. I looked at her shocked and her response while shrugging her shoulders was “I’m sorry I guess”. It was not genuine and only after she saw the shock on my face apologized.
When the check came I expected the restaurant would deduct for that dish or provide a discount. The restaurant did nothing and actually added an extra drink on the bill which I had to mention to...
Read moreHad a super experience at Arriaga. The building is a marvel (how they installed such lengths of frameless glazing boggles) and does away with any logical architectural thinking (it's the narrowest building I think I've been in, especially at such heights). Views were lovely but probably better appreciated during daytime. Service was incredibly friendly. Food was really good - we did the smaller tasting menu (it was plenty - the optional nine courses would be excessive), paired with wine (all excellent) and catered for our pescatarian preferences. It was a Tuesday night so there weren't many covers (another four tables) so was a bit quiet, and can imagine it a bit more buzzy towards the weekend. Most importantly it was a really nicely paced evening; we were in there maybe 2.5 hours and enjoyed every moemnt and bite of it. Location is a bit of a bugger, but a taxi was kindly sorted for us and arrived promptly. Lovely place and strongly recommended for a special evening (it was out 27th anniversary...
Read moreI have to share because I’m so upset to the point I could not hold back tears while I was at the restaurant. I have food allergies to nuts, green peas, and intolerance to dairy. I informed the restaurant of my allergies at the time of booking AND when I arrived at the restaurant. My biggest disappointment was that my allergies were still missed. I didn’t worry initially because it was supposed to be a top notch restaurant. The explanation I was given was that “it got mixed up with a different table.” I will not return again nor would I recommend the place to anyone else. The waiter had the attitude of “I apologized so get over it”, but anyone with true food allergy would know apology doesn’t mean much when you truly understand how serious food allergies can be. I’m so disappointed this place doesn’t have the safety measures some of the other restaurants have to keep people with food...
