Although the service was excellent, the food was not as expected, they didn’t have much choice, a few dishes. The mentality of this restaurant is that you follow the chef’s choice of cuisine, ‘the experience of Omasake’ where you spend 45€ or a bit more per person, plus extra drinks, but it was not clear to us; the waiter mentioned that there was only one main dish , then a dessert and one drink included; it seemed to us not much for the price; and nothing warm to eat 🥺 . I think they need more choice in their menu and better dishes. Moreover, the waiter said they didn’t have ‘carbón’ dishes, although we could smell something burning. We felt like if you didn’t follow what u are told (what they want to give you), then you are not part of the gang (you shouldn’t be there) that is how it felt, so it was sad. I love Japanese food and wanted to try a different restaurant, as we always go to Masae (Now they have moved to the bus station in Granada) and Nagare too (next to the river Genil, puente verde) but we were not impressed with the food; I understand your professionalism and effort on all of these things and we were grateful for that, don’t get me wrong, please. The maki was not tight neither, it broke when dipping in soy sauce 🤦♀️ Sadly, not sure we...
Read moreKIATO is a hidden gem. I have tried tons of highly-rated sushi in Japan, I can confidently say that KIATO offers very authentic and quality sushi.
The seafood was very fresh and of the right cut. Aburi salmon and toro were perfectly done. Toro with Yuzu were a fantastic duo. Tempura rolls were also something you cannot miss.
The thing that amazed me the most was the fact that they pay lots of attention to the rice: they used real sushi rice which were cooked just right, and the vinegar ratio was perfect. The sushi rice wasn’t too loose or too dense, it was pressed just hard enough to give you the perfect little bite.
On top of that, the service was impeccable, making this dinner even more enjoyable. This is maybe one of the best and most authentic sushi restaurant in Spain, or even in Europe. I’d totally make a detour again for KIATO the next time I’m in...
Read moreSmall, intimate restaurant with impeccable service. Only a fixed menu was on offer to us, with courses consisting of an appetizer of marinated bonito, several individual nigiri sushi pieces, and two rolls, followed by a dessert of an insipid and heavy cheesecake. No sake was available, which was surprising, but the wine was good. The seafood was excellent, with unexpected combinations of flavors in the sauces or toppings that we really enjoyed. So I thought the relatively high price of the meal was worth it. The only real off note was the cheesecake. Considering the thoughtfulness involved in every other aspect of the dining experience, I would have expected a more interesting and fitting...
