Restaurante Pañero — Restaurant in Granada

We come to Granada every year during Holy Week because it is a very lively city during these dates. We have always been treated very politely at any restaurant we have visited. Last year we went to this bar and they denied us a table without any explanation. The same thing happened this year in 2024. We were about to sit at one of the tables on the terrace, and a waiter rudely told us that we couldn't sit without even knowing if we were going to eat or not. In any case, there were many tables where people were just having a beer. We felt discriminated against once again and have reported it to the manager. This comment is an appeal to the management of the establishment to properly train the waitstaff in good customer service. I do not recommend anyone to go to this restaurant, especially not foreign visitors, due to the strong discrimination they show towards us as tourists unfamiliar with the city. Only one star for the food. But the lady who served us was nice and polite- so an extra star to the establishment.

The croquettes were nice, and so was the little tapas of vegetables and bread that came with the drinks.

The meat in tomato sauce (sauce didn’t seem to have any tomato in it) was extremely salty and the patatas bravas was the same as the fried potatoes that came with the meat, only overcooked- fried to dark brown. We left almost all of it, but wasn’t asked if there was anything wrong.

Portions were huge (except for the meat) but it was also expensive (10 euros for the patatas bravas).

Visited on a Monday afternoon in December and enjoyed our table in the sunny plaza. Staff greeted us and promptly served us our first round of drinks along with a tapa. After that, service was incredibly slow and we felt extremely unwelcome as visitors. Multiple times waitstaff walked by our table, ignored us, and served other tables much more promptly and attentively.
