El Platano Azul — Restaurant in Granadilla de Abona

El Planto Azul is a Arabic style restaurant, which my friend and I chose for our last dinner on Tenerife. The decoration looks nice, the service is alright and the location very good, but the food was disgusting.

We’ve had the humus platter and a Taboule for starter. It was overpriced and nothing like a good taboule.. the humus was served with Arabic bread cut into tiny pieces, which weren’t even enough to finish the humus with it. The humus didn’t taste fresh either.

After quiet disappointing starter the biggest audacity was the kebab plate. It’s kebab served with rice and a salad. The rice was super dry and blend, the salad was alright, but the kebab meat looked like they scraped together the last left pieces. It was cold, scambled and blend. The service was friendly and the place looks nice, but I would not...

I am writing the review from the hospital. Yesterday I was eating at the restaurant and in the evening I started to throw up and have diarrhoea. The doctors told me that it’s normal because the kebab it’s not well refrigerated. I got sick together with my 4year old son… just wondering what’s the control plan behind this?! How they are controlling?! Or they put everything together?!

On top of this the price is really high for what we have eaten. And the kebab was cold, so as the falafel. The falafel I must admit was back… from how much it was cooked.

If you want to enjoy the holiday and not ending up in the hospital, I strongly advise you not...

We visited this place twice. Our first dinner was great, food was delicious, staff was smiling we felt welcomed. Unfortunately I can’t say same words for second visit. Staff was really rude almost kicked us out because people were waiting outside, we almost didn’t finish food he was pointing at us that we will leave soon although we wanted to order dessert and coffe. Then I went to pay, he was not even paying attention, took my bill from me. The he started talking with his colleague for 5 minutes left me waiting. Then he gave me change didn’t even say goodbye to us and walked away can’t recommend this place...
