La Braseria El Médano — Restaurant in Granadilla de Abona

Very poor meal at this restaurant which definitely does not deserve a 4.8 rating. Pre-booked, we were one of the first to sit. Ordered fillet medium-well and ribeye medium with sides of chef potatoes and grilled vegetables. Lady host clearly under pressure and having to serve all tables on her own. Steaks arrived very quickly - fillet was very large and raw under the surface. We sent this back for further cooking. The ribeye could only be described as a grisly mess which I could not even cut. Unfortunately this had to go back also with an order for a fillet well done to replace. Sides, which arrived luke warm at best left on the table - we were given forks to eat these while we waited. Fillet returned still undercooked and had to go back a second time. Host told us at this stage that her father who was the chef was away at a funeral and stand-in was doing his best. Eventually the second fillet arrived cooked rare at which stage we gave up, ate what we could and paid the €100 bill which was given to us without apology. I don’t know why the rating is so high. The service was nice, and the waiter was friendly, but that’s probably the only positive thing I can say about this place.

The medium-cooked entrecôte was just a fully grilled steak, and the fried chef’s potatoes were unimpressive. But it was ok.

As I don’t eat red meat and there are no poultry options on the grill, they offered a couple of pasta dishes. Unfortunately, the cacio e pepe was a bad choice. The pasta was overcooked, and the sauce was a watery mess—there was no sign of the creamy, velvety texture you'd expect. It was truly disappointing, especially considering they promote themselves as an Italian restaurant. (or not, but the chef if Italian). Any Italian mother would cry over that dish. I couldn’t manage to finish it, despite being hungry after a full day of traveling.

In short, there are definitely improvements needed with pasta dishes, or they need to be removed...

I am not sure why this restaurant has such a good rating…. But i think there was a change of ownership, because the menu is very different then the one here on google.

We had a mixed grill plate for 4 people. The meat was ok, but very expensive for the amount. On the menu was written it comes with grilled vegetables, but it came with just a bit of decoration salad….. when we asked for the veggies, they‘ve just bring us a very small plate off cold antipasti veggies….

So very expensive for very little food….. the meat is ok but sidedishes are a ripoff…. For 7€ you get a very small portion off patatoes…. Dont get me wrong, but for that money you get a pizza in other...
