Love El Medano and now we’ve found another reason to love it even more!
Veinte 04 is the Perfect Bohemian, Super Food hang out!
Tucked away on the corner of the square, you have amazing views of the beach and can feel the energy and pulse of El Medano’s laid back, sunshine powered life force.
We went for breakfast and it was brilliant,
The food is all locally sourced and made fresh, me and the missus both had the Australian Breakfasts and they were bangin’!
Perfectly cooked fried eggs, crispy smokey bacon, flavoursome mushrooms, wicked little sausages and sour dough bread to mop up with…delicious!!
Everyone else’s food looked amazing and we could have quite easily gone back and tried it all, the fresh fruit and pastry sharing trays looked especially good and would definitely be on the cards next visit 👍
Inside it’s all funky and cool, kitchen is open and piled high with fresh fruit on the pass, you can see everything is professionally and lovingly created from scratch,
I can imagine the evenings are even better with the energy cranked up and everyone having proper good craic!
The staff were welcoming and engaging, attentive and funny, perfectly suited to the place,
Thank you Team Veinte 04 you made fantastic...
Read moreThe pandemic has been difficult for all of us, and I appreciate that it has been particularly so for the service industry. However, on one of our regular visits to the South, the experience was particularly poor at this location. Out of 20 or so meals we had during this visit, this was the worst. The staff were at best brisk at worst forgetful and rude. We stopped for a quick coffee and breakfast for two, and instead committed 2 hours to our two irritable waitresses that seemed well out of their depth.
Key points to consider:
If you are going to commit to sanitary restrictions and a digital menu, priority should go to ensuring the WiFi works, as many visitors may not have a local mobile phone, and will struggle with slow data speeds on foreign networks. In our case we received a lecture from the help on using our own data plan, which wasn’t the issue, and an unnecessary slight.
The surf lifestyle concept and presentation at this location makes sense and looks quite good, but an overly large menu and a pretentious staff, makes it all feel a bit contrived.
We left the restaurant irritated and annoyed. Best for casual dining to stop a few doors up or down on...
Read moreFood is way worse than ever before. We come to El Medano for about 2 months every year and used to visit the restaurant at least every second day. This time we came on our first evening and were super disappointed by the quality and didn’t give it another try until our last evening yesterday and got disappointed again. The Quinoa salad was watery and tasteless, not a tiny bit of Mango has been found, nor the taste of Ginger as described. The undefinable pieces of vegetable were tasteless too. The Cesar‘s salad has been arranged like a cold cuts plate and the chicken has been cold cut too, not freshly fried like before. The „Mie Goreng“ tasted okay, but mostly after tons of soy sauce and there was nearly no chicken to be found.
The service has been okay, but seemed overwhelmed by the increased number of tables. Only a few waiters are able to accept orders and we‘ve not been asked if the food was okay or if we need salt/pepper…. Also we were completely forgotten when we asked...
