Lille café — Restaurant in Granadilla de Abona

We had a mixed experience at this brunch place. While the food and coffee was good (just the toast of the eggs Benedict was not fresh), the service was the most unfriendly we have had in 5 consecutive years coming to El Medano.

We were greeted with “no table, you have to wait” and this communication style went on during ordering up to the waitress (robust lady) complaint about our 1.5 year old daughter playing with the sugar on the table.

As a family we didn’t feel welcome at all which is so untypical for Spanish culture where children are everything. Waitress seemed overwhelmed and also forgot our second round of drinks so that I just payed without tip of course.

Don’t like to give bad reviews but we got disappointed to see such a potential place has such a rude service. As a business person myself, I think some businesses should remember customers are our revenue and profit. In this place it seems like the staff (one of them) is doing us a favor by serving us what we will actually pay for.

Besides this, quality is quite poor. Even though this place is not super cheap, I’d rather prefer to pay a bit more but get natural ingredients better than fake “guacamole” and “hollandaise sauce” Coffee was...

Food is one part of the experience. And it has to be somewhere between 50 to 60 percent of the dining experience. But the rest counts as well: the mood, the atmosphere, the music, the feeling, the design, the harmony between what you have on the plate and what surrounds the plate... The Lille Café has it all!
