We decided to go here on our first night as was getting late. Good to see lots of locals eating here which is always a good sign to me. The pizza base was tasty and there was a good selection of toppings. We had a slight issue when the waiter didn’t understand what we had ordered but was quickly resolved and a correct pizza arrived promptly. Not a lot of atmosphere but you can’t expect that for a restaurant on the road. All went downhill the following evening when my daughter decided to go back and was told by the same waiter that the restaurant was closed, however they then took two more customers in for food. The following evening the elderly waiter, saw us eating at another restaurant and started making chicken noises at us. In an attempt at mocking us as he gave us ham rather than chicken.

We decided to visit Café Pizzeria El Paseo spontaneously in the evening, but unfortunately, the experience was rather disappointing. The atmosphere seemed inviting at first glance, but that was about the only highlight of our visit. The biggest issue was communication. Since I don’t speak perfect Spanish, there were significant difficulties placing my order. The staff didn’t seem very flexible or willing to bridge the language gap, and as a result, I didn’t even receive a main course. Overall, while the location has potential, the service and lack of accommodation for non-Spanish speakers left a lot to be desired. It’s not a place I’d be eager to return to.

Because of Xmas day not a lot was open, luckily El Paseo was! When we arrived the chef came out to talk to us. He was so friendly and funny! He insisted we took the Pasta Frutti di Mare and Wow!! what a perfect pasta!! It tasted incredible and so fresh! Graci mile!! We left with a full belly and a smile!

Avoid this place - it is a tourist trap taking advantage of its close proximity to the Melia Hotel which also has extremely high priced food. The food is absolutely overpriced given its poor quality and small rations. 17 euros for around 6 fried squid rings is insane. When we went several menu items were not available and when food was brought to the table they had gotten the order wrong. There are much better options in the...
