Finally, let’s escape the tourist area of Ibiza where English and German lads are wasting money on expensive and eccentric theatrical overpriced pseudo restaurants, let’s get back to basics. And here comes ‘La BARRA de la BIENTIRADA’. What to say, trendy local spanish (yes you know real spanish) where the staff barely speak english… So yes get ready to discover Europe. The food was insane… just insane. The best grilled octopus with that ‘parmentier’ real aioli like real Marseille locals will do it, with potato and not just mayo. Giving that amazing texture, and concentrated in garlic and smoke paprika, INSANE. Then all the other ones like that sweet corn ‘brioche’ with crunchy calamari and aioli. OMG. so good that contrast. Everything was good and simple, to that ultimate challenge I have now, I need to contact them to get the recipe for that insane ‘tarta de queso’ OMG.. I cook a good Basque style one, but this one is my official worldwide benchmark. RECIPE and proportion necessary please ;o) So overall it was a really good experience. If you’re looking for more locals, get there, otherwise stay in the middle of the city center. GUYS TIME TO OPEN ONE in PARIS ….yes PARIS…....
Read moreThe other day, we visited La Barra de la Bientirada, which appears to have opened relatively recently. The restaurant has a charming Andalusian style and serves generous, tasty portions. For the two of us, just three dishes were more than enough to leave us satisfied.
The atmosphere was fantastic, full of locals, and despite the place being busy, the staff was attentive and friendly. One of our chicken strips was slightly overcooked, but the waiter replaced it with three fresh ones as soon as we mentioned it – a kind and professional gesture. At the end of the meal, they even offered us a complimentary shot, a nostalgic touch rarely seen nowadays but one that made the experience feel even more special.
The prices were quite reasonable, leaning towards the cheaper side, which added to the overall value. Whether you’re stopping by for drinks at the bar or craving Andalusian-style food, this is definitely a spot to check out!

Read moreSmall quaint venue which quickly filled itself up with local people, which definitely suggested to me that the food served must have been authentic Spanish one! In fact I was definitely not let down!! The welcoming, friendly waiter: Juan was able to suggest to me some mouthwatering dishes, starting from the potatoes Barra style, to the scallops and tasty squid dish with salad and potatoes. He also suggested to me, good glasses of local chilled white wine which I truly enjoyed with the yummy food I was served. Juan took good care of me and when the bill arrived, I pointed out that one glass of wine was missing from it. He thanked me and I told him I would definitely visit again if I ever come to Ibiza again. This little venue is a must, if you are ever in Ibiza. Great food, wine and...
