We visited as a family for lunch, I ordered the Caesar salad. Half way through the meal, I noticed a dead moth attached to a piece of lettuce in my salad. Wanting to avoid causing a scene in front of other customers close by, I took the salad to the bar to show the waitress who said âoh my godâ and apologised and took the dish to the kitchen. I said I didnât want a replacement as I felt sick. The waitress then came to our table, and without showing the same courtesy to deal with the issue politely in private, she said that they donât have âthose animalsâ in the kitchen, and it must have flown in to the salad whilst at the table. I then explained that the moth was already dead and flattened between pieces of lettuce (and was attached to an individual piece of lettuce) and that it did not fly into the dish, she began to laugh at us and said âwell I donât know how this could have happened.â I need to emphasise that I did not want to cause a scene or request compensation, all I asked was the salad to be taken off the bill and the rest of the table continued with their meal. I then asked to speak to a manager and went to the bar as the way this was dealt with was humiliating and appalling. I explained the situation to the barman (who may or may not have been the manager but presented himself as such) who admitted that as the lettuce was fresh, the insect could have come to them in the lettuce and he apologised and removed the salad from the bill. Not only is this disgusting to receive in food, but the way it was handled was awful and embarrassing. Having worked in hospitality I wanted to deal with this quietly but the waitress was extremely rude. This review could have been avoided, if it was handled politely I would not have left this review. But unfortunately, with multiple establishments offering the exact same food at the same prices along the main strip in Correlejo, I would advise anyone to avoid this at all costs and choose somewhere else with staff who show basic common courtesy to their customers, especially when preparing food to a poor standard...

Read moreWe went as a family for Xmas dinner at the 4pm sitting. Tables not set or even cleared on arrival, finally got seated at 4.20pm starters arrived at 5pm soup was wrong waiter took back and brought out what I orderedâŚ. Cold. Mains took a further 40mins to arrive, while waiting a waiter came through the pub with a load of mash from the restaurant opposite! no roast potatoes on the dinner.. when asked got told they ran out and the waiter laughed. 5 times we asked for more gravy, arrived when we had stopped eating. Main was warm, beef full of gristle, the veg contained at least half an onion, peppers, and Brussels?! 1830 pudding landed supposed to be warm Choc fudge cake with ice cream âŚ. Nope cold lump of cake no ice cream. One waiter extremely rude throughout, people behind us left before the mains even arrived, they explained their problem (60 mins waiting for main) waiter waved her goodbye and laughed when they left.
No crackers on the tables, couldnât hear any Christmas music on as the bar was so busy as was still open to the public even though all the tables were booked out. No drinks table service until the end of the meal, so the queues for the bar was ridiculous.
If I could give this 0 stars I would. Of all the staff on that day the English lady at the till was the one I felt for who ended up in tears because of all the complaints!!! It was the kitchens fault not the majority of the waiting staff.
Advice for 7 pintsâŚ.. quit trying to cook from a tiny kitchen located next to the toilet, it doesnât work the meals are awful DO...
