La Mamma Pastas & Grill — Restaurant in La Oliva

I am writing this review still seated at the restaurant. How unimpressive wow. We had our booking for 8:30pm and arrived maybe 5m late. We were seated and the girl that served us, spoke only Spanish. Not surprising as we are Portuguese and we are in Spain afterall. She told us that we had to order quickly as kitchen was going to close.... We quickly ordered our drinks and food. We had our drinks that was fine. Waiting normal amount of time for food cooked at the hour (35m) Now first i have to say there was no Canelonis. The food I read about and made booking for it and was aiming so much, it's not on current menu. Chicken escalopes were sold out. We ordered 2 pizzas a wok dish and omelette for my 8year old. I have to say I have NOTHING bad to say about the food quality. Food was lovely. I mean for basic food. The service is another story. We wanted refills. We waited over 15m, 7 different calls and signs and nothing. The waitress came to check on table behind (her friends) and my son managed to get her attention. I mean, by then we almost had finished our meals: Oh yippee! We had a fan turned on for half of our meal and then was turned off.... I found our experience disappointing and sad I have never asked for pizza in a restaurant. I am from the opinion that there are so many other good things to ask, why pizza.... I was made to change my mind. I also thought that the meat on sale was overpriced for this restaurant and the service presented. I've learned my lesson. Not to return here....

We ate here because a lady on the corner convinced us to go there, so we thought why not.

Drinks were ordered quickly and decision on food took us a while but we ended up going for a chicken escalope and my brother ordered a steak.

Took a while for it to get to us even though it wasn't busy. When we got it, the chicken smelled more like fish and you could just tell it went straight into the frying pan. The steak at least looked okay. Also got a few fries with it but nothing too much like other places.

No one came to check if everything was fine with our food and didn't take away the empty drink bottles from our table. It's like they didn't care at all.

Dessert menu looked tragic too, looked all pre-made like you could buy it from the store. Nothing special at all.

Overall very disappointing experience and wouldn't come here again. The food/drinks we got for that price is better spent elsewhere....

FANTASTIC! I can't say if this is the best restaurant in Corralejo, only because I haven't had a meal in all of the other ones. However I can ay that we had a wonderful meal and evening here. What stikes me is the quality of the ingredients that they use. The salad (Canaria) was argueably one of the best salads I've ever been served. The ingredients were obviously of a high quality and very fresh. The same can be said in respect of the filet steaks that we had. Good sized portions, perfectly coooked as ordered, with lovely large fries that had been deep fried in fresh oil. The service was excellent, with no sense of rush, leaving a good gap between courses.
