The food was superb, tasty inventive and beautifully presented. The staff were all friendly, helpful and not at all obtrusive. Ceviche was wonderful, and I enjoyed the octopus too - two unusual choices for me. Portion size was huge - I would been happy with ⅔ or even ½ the size. Pain perdu - wow! So crispy, with wonderful crème anglaise and perfect vanilla ice cream.
The restaurant itself is a nice place to eat. We were upstairs and unfortunately it was silent. It meant my wife and I and the other family seated nearby found ourselves whispering to maintain privacy. I am not a fan of music in restaurants so I would have preferred to have heard chatter between the staff in the nearby bar/service area. It was just far too quiet!
Everything else was wonderful and well priced for the quality. The quiet was a minor suggestion / irritant. We got the feeling this was a restaurant for old people - food lacked any flavour; husband had suckling pig which was bland, overcooked and under flavoured. Came with boiled potatoes. Service was good, polite waiters and quick. Just a shame that the restaurant itself has such a bad atmosphere and the food sucks. Don’t want other people to fall for the same trap as it’s expensive but really not...

Service was professional, friendly, attentive and knowledgable, with the sommelier providing great advice on choosing our wines, one of which was a lovely malvasia from Lanzarote.
The food was also among the very best we have had on Gran Canaria, ranging from very good to outstanding. A special mention to the delectable tuna tartar and steak tartar, the fresh burrata salad and the exquisite patatas bravas.
It might be a splurge, but Rever is well worth...
