Café Bar Rúa 11 — Restaurant in León

We went there for lunch for the first time. Since we went early, we could find a table without any waiting. They have an extensive vermouth collection. We drank a few and now we have a new favourite! The drinks come with a pintxo of your choice. We also got a cheese platter and a charcuterie platter and although I thought we could not finish them, we came very close since they were very delicious. We went back for more vermouth at night and the place was packed. The owner was very friendly despite our non-existing Spanish and him not speaking much English. If I lived in Leon, I would definitely be one of the regulars...

There was a pulpo dish here which is incredible. Besides that, the cheesecake is highly recommended ( my wife had it twice while she was in Leon for a few days!) and the other dishes we had were also very good. The service is fantastic and even though it was very busy, we were asked if we wanted more drinks. When I asked for a cup of local wine and later a cup of local vermouth, I was given very good examples of both. Highly recommend! Food and service were both excellent!

Dinner: Went back and tried a fuller meal... This place delivered. I had vermouth and shared a couple dishes with fellow pilgrims. We had morcilla, beef jerky (thinly sliced like jamon), and something else that I totally forgot. I just remembered how good the morcilla with apple sauce and pine nuts was. 😂

Mid-day lunch: Excellent service Very good food, had tarta de queso. It was good and creative but I preferred the classic version.
