We must have caught them on a bad night. Service was mediocre, food took ages to arrive and was tasty but small for the price and fish portions weren’t generous. House wine costs €24- no wine list- we were recommended this bottle by the waiter who didn’t mention cost. We were there for an hour and a half and only received 3 of the ordered four ‘media’ dishes. I cancelled the 4th, as we were fed up with waiting and had finished the bottle of wine at this point( as well as going past hunger) They attempted to charge me for the cancelled dish . I’m not sure why the dishes didn’t all come together…there was a 10-20 min wait between each. They seemed under staffed as service was not very attentive- I asked for the bill 3 times and we waited more than 15 minutes to order food. Would have appreciated some honesty if they were busy and running late , instead the service felt arrogant and indifferent. Do not recommend- surely must be other better places in Malaga. The food lacked all the sophistication of the first time, and not only was the sort of ‘tourist trap’ food you would find in the restaurants on the main strip it was badly cooked as well - we rejected one particularly poorly prepared dish that had to redone twice before it was vaguely acceptable.
And then to top it off the bill was incorrect, and although rectified quickly it was the final straw.
In summary, go on a good night and it is a five star experience, but go on a bad night and it is...
Read moreI saw the sign when they were closed on Monday and based on intuition and confirmed by Google reviews I came for dinner. Very nice relaxed atmosphere and my waiter Fernando was so nice helping me to order in Spanish albeit him speaking excellent English. Great music and high and low tables in the back of the front is full. The food is fantastic. The baby squid was so good! A cut above your run of the mill tapas places...not crazy loud here so this is best for a couple or solo traveler....get off the beaten path and great yourself to an excellent dinner here!
Ask yourself how often do you want to thank the chef 1/3 of the way thru dinner. The carrillada iberica estofada con Parmentier de hierbas is fantastic after...
