First of all I want to say that I'm glad to write this review. My family...couple and child...walked by Los Marangos while touring Malaga in the afternoon...the place already had people eating outside...as I quite good cook myself I took a look at the food on the tables and it looked good. We went for dinner afterwards at were quickly helped to a table inside since we didn't reserve a table before. We had a sort of tiny meat stuffed pie, a potato "cake", an Andalusian pork stew, fried croquettes, fried "mini" octopus, a main dish with a breaded fried thin steak with two sunny side eggs and a load of French fries...water, a bottle of Moscatel de Malaga which was different from my Italian homeland wines but super good...very fruity, almost like fish green apple scents. The food is genuine, fresh quality and tasty...the restaurant is decorated with many old pictures of the family restaurant heritage and the servers were extremely warm, helpful and playful both with us and our 5-year-old. They kindly offered us a dessert too and I had a sweet red wine from Malaga in the end. This is the kind of place I like...genuine food amd people. I Highly recommend Los Marangos and hope to com...

I stopped here randomly while I was going for a walk. Decide to have some tapas, so I choose Empanadilha (too oily in my opinion) and Jamon in the Oven. Maybe I just didn't decide the right things, but to be honest I don't recommend this place. Or maybe you can go to try the Paella, as I see a lot of pictures and good reviews about it 🙂

To drink, I chose a glass of white sangria, which didn't taste good, tasted like it had vodka to be honest, I asked one of the waiters if he could take it back, and if possible change for Apperol Spritz, which I also wasnt a big fan. But I didn't complain about it, I'm also a waitress and It's horrible when people just complain about everything. Also didnt complain about the food, even tho It was not good.

But I have a very good thing to say, I really liked the service of the younger boy, who was also the one who I approach to have a table, He is a...

We stopped by because we saw very good reviews and it seemed like a cozy little restaurant offering good food so we thought why not stop for dinner. Waiter that greeted was very welcoming but that's about it. Seated us inside, then it took him well over 10 mins to bring the menu and he did it only after eyeing him several times. Ordered drinks and appetizer, asked for few more minutes for main course. Drinks came soon, appetizers we waited for 45 mins. Never came. Waitress stopped to ask are we ready to order upon which we replied that we're waiting for appetizers - she just grabbed menus and left, didn't even manage to finish sentence. We decided to pay our drinks and leave. Waiter simply whispered sorry and that was it, not even a decent apology for leaving us waiting and ignoring us in plain sight. Very disappointing, especially since it wasn't even that crowded.

I won't lie, although the staff was lovely and tried their best to understand our English the food did not meet our expectations. We ordered the Garlic shrimp, the mussels in tomato sauce and the grilled octopus. We found the garlic shrimp and the mussels were dull. They didn't have a lot of flavour - the dishes just kind of fell flat. The octopus, however; was simply irresistible. Everything in that bowl belonged. The candied octopus was unlike anything we had ever had. As I mentioned, the staff were lovely and it was a quieter corner to dine at we just didn't care for 2 of our 3 dishes. With that being said, I would 100% recommend this restaurant for the octopus alone. It was unlike any preparation of octopus we had had before.
