Seems like this is a scammy tourist trap and I unfortunately fell for it.
Very disappointed with the food at this place.
Sitting outside on the street is a great atmosphere but that's the highlight of this place.
The food is not that good at all and is very blah.
I went here based on a recommendation and the pictures I saw from previous reviewers. For example, the patatas bravas and the tataki de ternera I ordered were very different from the recent pics.
Maybe they went through some recent changes? I don't know but the food wasn't that great
Here is the scammy tourist trap part:
The prices are very expensive and portions are tiny. I mean tiny
I also got the sangria and didn't taste any alcohol
On top of that, they charged me 1.70E for "table service" (never seen that in Malaga before) and they also charged me an extra for asking for extra sauce (they did not disclose that there would be extra charges and I found out when I got my bill)
I felt so frustrated after this experience. A complete waste of a dinner
Don't go here and I'm sure there are better tapas...
Read moreReally nice tapas restaurant. My overall rating should be separate for each dish - so i will do it in a comment below. Atmosphere and service is on top. The crew working there really do their utmost to make sure you feel comfortable and I had everything i needed.
Croquettes - good simple croquettes with addition of iberian ham inside. Of course you can not compare them to other dishes but among croquettes i give them - 4*
Mashrooms with shrimps - i expected something stronger in taste. Overall good food but i missed some sort of sauce or anything to boost it’s taste. Correct dish but nothing fancy - 3*
Beef Tataki - this is the best dish i have had that day. Perfectly made beef well matched with local red wine 🤤🔥 served with tasteful sauce. Under the beef there are really tasty potatoes with another sauce in between. This is the dish which made me think to go there again....
They refused to serve me without any apparent reason.
Answer: Yes, I can explain. I sat down at a table, waited for 5 minutes to be served, and when I saw the waitress, I signaled her and asked for orange wine. The waitress told me that they don't have it, so I asked for the menu. The waitress told me that they no longer serve food, and I said that that was fine by me, as I will only order a drink. 5 minutes later, the table next to me was served food, and I still did not get the menu. After 5 more minutes, I signaled to the same waitress and asked for the menu again, but she told me that she was told to gather the tables and could not serve me. So, I left. Some 45 minutes later, I was still in that barrio, and people were still sitting and drinking there. Hence, I was refused the service for no apparent reason, as I could have easily had my drink...
