During my recent visit to Málaga, We had the pleasure of discovering Tatanegro — a restaurant that not only exceeds expectations but also elevates local cuisine to an exceptional level. From the moment we arrived, the warm welcome and beautifully curated ambiance set the tone for a truly memorable evening.
We began with a selection of tapas that delighted the senses: gambas al pil pil, perfectly cooked with just the right touch of garlic and chili, and rich, melt-in-your-mouth pork croquettes — both refined and full of flavor.
To accompany our meal, we enjoyed a superb glass of José Pariente Verdejo — an elegant, fresh, and aromatic white wine that paired wonderfully with every dish.
For the main course, the seafood paella was nothing short of outstanding. A generous medley of ocean-fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked rice, and a deeply flavorful base reflected a true reverence for Mediterranean cuisine and culinary craftsmanship.
The service was impeccable — professional, attentive, and deeply knowledgeable about the menu, adding even more value to the dining experience.
In short, Tatanegro is not just a restaurant — it is a celebration of fine taste, a tribute to southern flavors, and a place I will undoubtedly return to. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an authentic, high-level culinary...
Read moreWorst experience ever. . From the beginning we were told restaurant was closed with a very bad attitude, reverted later but they were still not fully ready even though during official opening hours: it almost felt like they were bothered by clients. We wanted a table for 4 as 3rd person was meant to arrive later but almost forced for a tiny table for 2. In the end we agreed for a table. During this time the restaurant was absolutely empty and I had myself a reservation. Finally, I ordered 2 drinks and then when i wanted to order food, I was again spoken rudely and they told me that if 3rd person is not coming they will charge me Eur 5. At this point I decided to leave because of how rude the staff were. I could not stay in such a horrible place not even 1 more second. I was shouted on my way out that I had to pay for the 2 sangrias ordered which I haven't even touched because they literally made get up and leave. Absolutely horrible. I paid for the 2 sangrias but told them i want it takeaway. I cannot express in words the experience I ve had with these people... When you come to a restaurant you want to enjoy not to be treated like this. When you are in this business you leave "personal problems " at home. If you can't be nice you have to be at least respectful....
Read moreAbout a week ago I wanted to have a drink in the afternoon with my girlfriend, who is new to Málaga, and enjoy the view of the cathedral. First we were told that the table was for 4 instead of two people, and then that we couldn't just drink something here, but had to eat something. The terrace was empty except for one table; it was around 4:30 p.m. I'm almost ashamed to live in Málaga now, it's just Disney World for tourists. And locations like this are contributing to things getting worse.
Long story short, logically I can't judge the quality, but the atmosphere is anything but Spanish or Malagueño. With all the understanding that everyone naturally wants to make money from tourism (there is absolutely nothing wrong with that), I seriously hope that places like this go bankrupt because of their arrogance.
I have been living in Málaga for 20 years now, of course I speak Spanish fluently, but I am deliberately writing this review in English and not in Spanish so that as many tourists as possible understand that this is not Málaga. We are warm, open and friendly to everyone here and wouldn't turn anyone away even if they just ordered a glass of tap water and a cafe solo. No, Malaga is not like...
