Firstly want to say that the food here and presentation is very nice. When we booked our reservation I made note that my partners allergies were crustaceans and chilli pepper.
The second shared dish that was brought out, had chilli in it even though we had mentioned the allergies again when we sat down and were told certain dishes we initially chose had chilli, so the dishes we ordered we understood were allergen free.
They then replaced, it after we’d tasted it and it was spicy, with a chilli free version, but even at that it still tasted spicy. My partner had to take her prescription adrenaline tablets.
It then took 40 minutes for us to receive our mains. Mine was the beef rib, and it arrived room temp/cold. My partner ordered the brioche sandwich and we noticed hers didn’t come cut and presented like everyone else who ordered it in the restaurant. We also double checked if there was chilli as the trust had already been broken if what we ordered was safe for her to eat and the waiter said “sometimes we confuse ourselves what is spicy”.
They did give us a few glasses of wine on the house, but at this stage the experience had been ruined and we felt let down by the excitement of visiting a Michelin guide restaurant, where you might expect a certain type of standard and care.
Initially the bill was presented as we wanted to leave our meal before completion and they simply left the free wine off the bill.
I communicated that we felt let down by the experience and attentiveness of the service.
The manager told us the waiter should have told us specifically that there is cross contamination but we didn’t receive this and were blatantly not told allergens were in the food we ordered. He said we’re not Michelin star, even though I specifically said we were excited for Michelin guide dining. It felt more like a back and forth rather than accepting poor service. They also begun speaking Spanish in front of myself and my partner even though I am fluent and understood them, the server seemed to be challenging him and not accept blame for her poor service.
I would not recommend if you have dietary restrictions as they’re not taken seriously here. As they seemed unfazed that they presented someone with an allergen they were allergic to.
Our bill was nearly €100 and in return they took off the shared starters so we payed just over €60, but in reality I should have stood firm on them...

Disappointing Experience at Tragata, Málaga
I recently dined at Tragata in Málaga, full of high expectations after having an exceptional experience at their Ronda location. Unfortunately, this new establishment was a complete letdown in every way possible.
Service: The service was some of the worst I have ever experienced. Despite asking for water five times, it was only brought to our table after what felt like an eternity. The staff seemed indifferent and inattentive, which only added to the frustration.
Ambiance: There was no ambiance to speak of. The restaurant lacked any sort of atmosphere—no music, no energy, nothing that could make the dining experience remotely enjoyable. It felt like the place was missing the soul and vibrancy that the Ronda location had in abundance.
Food: The food was another huge disappointment. The dishes lacked the flavor, creativity, and quality that we experienced in Ronda. It was clear that the Málaga location is not living up to the standard set by the original restaurant. For the price point, I expected something much more refined and satisfying. Instead, it felt like a pale imitation of what could be an outstanding culinary experience. Tips! Bring the same dishes to Malaga! SHAME!
Overall: Tragata Málaga does a disservice to Chef Benito Gómez's name. It feels like a blatant cash grab, with little attention paid to the quality of service or food. For the price, you can find far more elegant restaurants in the city with far better food and service. This experience was such a letdown that I will never return, and it's a shame that this restaurant is associated with a chef who has earned two Michelin stars in Ronda.

Our first impressions of Tragata were lovely. The service stood out immediately—our server was incredibly kind and thoughtful. They checked on us frequently, which at first felt a bit much, but later made perfect sense. Their attentiveness ensured everything ran smoothly, and they asked just the right questions to help us choose cocktails we’d truly enjoy.
I never found myself without a drink, thanks to the consistent service throughout the meal. For starters, we had the Iberian ham croquettes—creamy, savory, and absolutely delicious. We also shared the Ronda sandwich, made with brioche bread, chorizo, and a fried egg. A great combo of flavors.
For my main, I had the Iberian ham shoulder fricandó. It was everything I imagined and more—tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. All the elements on the plate complemented each other beautifully.
My friends had the hamburger which she enjoyed and the spring chicken—no notes, it speaks for itself!
As for the cocktails: tens across the board. Passion x...
