Went here yesterday and very bizarre experience. Had to wait a long time for someone to take our food order and it took ages before the pizzas were cooked (in a woodfired oven). Atmosphere is lacking, tables were not cleaned for over 30 minutes after guests left. At a certain moment we were done and just wanted to get our bottle of wine and pizzas to go. Went up to the register to ask for this and pay but arrived in a full on war between the kitchen and other staff. Within the battlefield there was a lot of confusion and it took me over 10 minutes to pay and leave. In the meantime I was in some sort of no mansland and afraid to be dragged in as well. All tables in the restaurant close to the kitchen were able to see the progress of the kitchen and staff war. Would not recommend to go here and hope that you can get to a peace treaty as soon as possible. Before all of that has happened, I recommend everyone to keep out of this place.
Also the pizzas tasted OK, not great and my girlfriend's...
Read moreWhere do I start? It started out very promising. A waiter greeted us at the door and asked us politely to wait while he quickly cleaned the table we wanted to sit at. That is pretty much where the service - or lack thereof - ended. Not only did the waiter, whom seemed to be catatonically bored, forget out us and pretty much everyone else. He folded pizza boxes even though there was a tremendous queue outside. But I understand that pizza boxes are more important. A poor fellow outside waited an hour for his pizza. All the waiter said was: “Everyone is waiting for the pizza”. Which to me is more of a fact than an excuse. Everyone in the staff seemed like stoned teenagers without the slightest bit of apathy. However, suddenly, an older waiter comes to work and 1, 2, 3 the service level rises to a respectable mark. When daddy is home everything seemed more welcome and professional. Sadly, daddy came home too...
Read moreWe came here without reservation and immediately got a table. We chose one by the (open) window as it was extremely hot inside and saw other guests sweating. Regardless, staff was extremely kind with a nice attitude and efficient. The nachos are a must-try and were very different from the greasy salsa + shredded cheese variety I had tried before. Both me and my boyfriend ordered a pizza, which were both very good although the crust was very big (if you think that's a problem, we don't). Towards the end of our visit a man came into the restaurant and started offering all the couples roses he had with him (someone working on the street). It surprised me that the staff did not send him away as he was clearly disturbing multiple sets of guests, but perhaps this is a cultural difference.
In the end, great food, great staff and the prices are extremely fair for the quality. We might visit again on...
